This hilarious sequel to award-winning author Sesyle Joslin's What Do You Say, Dear? teaches you what to do when a female polar bear walks into your igloo in a white fur coat? (You help her off with it!) Or what you should do when you meet someone coming the other way on a circus tightrope? Granted, some of the scenarios are a bit unlikely--involving pirates, "cowboys and Indians," princesses, and Robin Hood--but these characters, humorously depicted by Maurice Sendak, are guaranteed to strike a chord with your children. Even though your child may not ever have the chance to pick up a lady's handkerchief or to walk quietly through a library after having been lassoed by a cowboy outlaw, this book, outlining "proper conduct for all occasions," is sure to elicit more than a few giggles. (Ages 4 to 8)
"The honor-winning "What Do You Say, Dear?" has a delicious sequel here in nonsensical illustration of good manners. Sendak's pictures account for a great share of fun."--" The Horn Book"

This is a wonderful book. It is cleverly written, but most importantly shares a message that too many children today know nothing of.
This year I bought copies of both for all my nieces and nephews to make sure these books stick around in our family for many years to come.
They create delightfully silly scenarios to teach basic manners. Who could forget to wash their hands before eating when the task is attached to images of pirates and buried treasure?
