What Happened on the Hill Rosarium, Act 2
"What Happened on the Hill," relates the story of the Virgin Mary's appearances to six children in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the response of the community, and ultimately, the world. The work was premiered in Los Angeles on the UCLA campus in June 1999. Donald Neuen conducted the combined 200-voice UCLA and Angeles Chorales, the UCLA Philharmonia, with soloists Juliana Gondek, Gary Bachlund, Peter Atherton, and Michael Piontek.
"Rosarium" is a work that will be counted among the finest major works of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. -- Donald Neuen, Artistic Director of The Angeles Chorale
Bourland gives the large chorus grateful music of immediate impact and the choir sings with spirit and presence for Neuen. -- Los Angeles Times
