Having met Dr Patrick Baker in Cincinnati, I think the biggest proof that following his tasty and helpful advice about food works is that he hasn't used his health insurance for he or his family of 5 for the past 25 years or so.
Contrast that with the so many dozens of people I have met who have destroyed their health or their finances by ignorantly choosing the wrong food choices. I point the finger at myself first, remember back to the days when I was eating wonderbread peanut butter and marshmallow sandwiches, telling myself that all the food got broken down to the same microscopic particles anyway (yeah right!).
The book gives a great synopsis of the mistaken ideas people have about "health bars" and items like "soy", and goes into a good amount of detail so the consumer has a variety of options to keep the whole family healthy. I love the great resources listed and am happy to purchase a copy for a friend who has had heart surgery and is really suffering from her diabetes. Sure some people think of those who watch what they eat like the crazy looking salad head on the cover of this book. But you know what? It's the people who are friendly to vegetable gardens who stay above ground, so take these doctor's advice well and check out the great recipes they put inside to keep plenty of fun in your life and cooking!
They offer advice and solutions....Having actual brand names and go to websites makes this a true road map to success....
