This is a wild and intense read that only men will understand. He quotes Vilar, Bly and Rohr extensively. Much deep thought and research went into this tome of taking back manhood and masculinity, including his own experience. He digs much deeper than just feminism. He gets right to the core and anthropology of the sexes from prehistoric to present day. If you ask yourself what's wrong with society today this book has answers.

One way to judge how fulfilling a book can be is it's used price and availability. It's expensive but worth every penny and as you can see men don't part with it easily. If they do they pass it along to their friends and sons. I highly recommend this book if you're in the need for some manly soul searching. It will clear a lot of things up that have been swimming around in your head.

One of the most creative and brilliant books I've ever read

I can't think of ANY book you are likely to read with as many original
ideas. You don't even have to like Zubaty's authorial voice for his books to
be must-reads, because they will get you thinking either way, and that's the
author's ultimate goal. I suspect he would much prefer to have three people
read his book and hate it as to have two people read his book and love it,
as long as the readers in either case will think about the ideas presented
and pursue actions in their own lives related to their conclusions. Sprint,
don't run, to your feminized computer, and order Rich Zubaty's stunning,
unique, depressing, hilarious, infuriating, delightful, but above all,
must-read book. If you only buy one book this year, make it "What Men Know
That Women Don't." Your life, and that of those who love you and those whom
you love, not to mention that of your society, may depend on it. -- J.

An honest assessment

This book is well written and passionate. Though any attempt at analyzing subject matter so complex will necessarily fall short of completeness, Zubaty makes an invaluable contribution. His insights are fresh and disruptive, unique within the subject.

I don't rate books highly based upon agreement or disagreement with the author's perspective. Rather, I am looking at the quality of thought and expression. I am looking for originality within the field. I am looking to see something that makes me question. This book meets these criteria in spades.

Scientifically valid book devolves into angry rant

The book presents some interesting and calid scientific evidence regarding the differences in the bio-chemistry of the brains of women and men. The book also explains in detail the different social behaviors and social expectations between the two sexes. However, as the book goes on it becomes painfully repeative (which the author states was done intentionally in the beginning of the book) and the devolves into an angry rant against women. In particular, the author has intense deep-seeded hatred for his ex-wife, who after a very long marriage absolutely desimated him financially in their divorse and turned his children against him by poisoning their minds with false facts about him. In the end, I was only able to get about 60% way through the book because of the repetitiveness.

Shades of Philip Wylie!

What an extraordinary book this is! Written in a white heat that yet never causes the author to descend into sputtering or silliness, this book reminds me so much of "Generation of Vipers," a magnificently angry book about the myriad problems with the way our world was being run in 1942,written by a man named Philip Wylie. I read that book for the first time at age 21, and I can honestly say it changed my worldview - permanently, on some issues. Rich Zubaty's book, first published almost exactly 50 years later, has done the same for my perception of my sex, distorted as the image of we men has become in recent years, due to the feminist curse. And to think I once considered myself a male feminist! I like the way Mr. Zubaty refers to the female-driven desire for "things" as mater-ialism. It reminds me of the word coined by Mr. Wylie for the inordinate worship of motherhood in his day: Momism.

Of course, one could quibble with Mr. Zubaty's book here and there: All men are not as hard-working and self-sacrificing as he suggests; all women are not as selfish and mater-ialistic. But having said that, I must reiterate that this is a man-book, written not with a fussy and literal attention to every detail, but with a burst of uncanny insights about how we've been screwed for so long, and tremendous fluidity in spelling them out. Damn funny in places, too.

A final, personal comment. Mr. Zubaty, I served three yearsin the U.S. Army, and since then, for the past 39 years, I've been a reporter for my hometown newspaper. In all that time, the only Zubatys I've ever encountered were two or three families right here in my own small Midwestern home. Do you have any ties to Madison, Ind.?

Rich Zubaty uncovers why men in the West are so angry and frustrated. He pinpoints how those in power have let them down to feather their own nests. And he does it in a refreshingly funny way that often had me in stitches.

On reading this book you'll understand why the greatest scientists, artists, writers, engineers throughout history have been men. You'll understand why those who have suffered the most and been oppressed the most have also been men.

But moreover, you'll understand why men and women are different -- why this doesn't merely stop at the obvious biological differences, as feminists would have us all believe.

This book filled me with a sense of optimism that the Golden Age of Feminism will eventually start to crumble.
