Puscifer answers the enduring question of what exactly Puscifer is with a new DVD release titled ''What Is...'', which is set for a Nov. 26 release via Puscifer Entertainment. The two-hour sketch comedy show-meets-concert film builds upon and punctuates the multimedia format of the band's live performances with skits from the stable of Puscifer characters such as Billy D, Hildy and Major Douche woven into the performance footage of the Maynard James Keenan led quintet. ''Being surrounded by so many talented and creative people is an endless source of inspiration. This film only scratches the surface of how deep our proverbial rabbit hole goes. 'What Is...' Puscifer is meant to conjure as many questions as it answers,'' explained Maynard James Keenan. An accompanying soundtrack will be released simultaneously. Puscifer's concerts have been praised for their out-of-the-box take on what a live performance can be, with the Orange County Register saying ''the production matters as much as the music'' and describing the event as ''a thought-provoking, senses-jabbing statement on a variety of topics.'' The Dallas Morning News called the evening ''an idiosyncratic experience'' while the Austin Chronicle referred to the concert as a ''multimedia prop dramedy.''

I really liked the Rev 22:20 with Carina singing, with all the different recorded versions out there, it's really cool to see her get the original Puscifer song all to herself.
One other cool little thing they did was add in a lot of the little extras they had from the shows like Major Douche and the Country stuff at the beginning.
All in all though, this band is Amazing, and the CD/DVD are totally worth every penny.
I'm effing thrilled that this tour was put out on cd. I caught this particular tour twice and thought it was great. I also caught the first tour twice as well, which was also an experience not quite the same as this one. I myself, preferred the first tour, but still, this one was great as well.
Overall, the sound quality on the cd is very impressive and as a fan, I'm very pleased. Sounds as good on the cd as it did seeing it live. All the tracks that should be there are there with the exception of one, and I think most die hards will agree with me. So…Maynard…why no Indigo Children? C'mon man! I was sorely disappointed to see Momma Sed on this instead of Indigo Children. Those of you who've caught Puscifer will understand why this was a disappointment. While Momma Sed is great, we already have a live version on "C is for…" and we don't really need this one again. So, yeah…that's my one complaint with this. Indigo Children is truly amazing live and considering it was on the set list both times I saw them on this tour, (Momma Sed was not) I really don't understand why it's missing from this.
Other than that, this is great and a must for any fan.
I downloaded "What Is..." because it offered an overview of Puscifer's output. Folks, all I can say that I've been amazed thus far. I literally have been listening to the album over and over and over for the past month or so. Like Steven Wilson's solo work away from Porcupine Tree and Thom Yorke's solo stuff/Atoms For Peace away from Radiohead, Maynard demonstrates an abundance of talent and brilliance on his own with the help of a phenomenal supporting band.
Do yourself a favor and give ole Maynard and Puscifer a try. Don't deprive yourself of some amazing work, like I did for far too long!
