From the Author
Trained as a poet, my professional life has focused on writing nonfiction books about healthcare, along with articles for newspapers such as The Washington Post. In January 2015, my grandmother died, and I found myself too bereft to seek comfort in words--so I began to draw, encouraged by a group of artists I'd connected with on Facebook. Soon, I had drawn an entire collection of images inspired by images of my own girlhood, and my deep and enduring love for both of my grandmothers, and my mother.
About the Author
Essayist, journalist, poet and artist, Janice Lynch Schuster is an award-winning author of books on healthcare, and a frequent contributor to The Washington Post and major online platforms. She is the mother of five adult children, and a 14-year old.

The illustrations are also great -- I especially enjoyed the one about learning to drive.
