I'm sorry, but Thom Yorke hasn't done "rock n roll" for about 15 or so years now.

Really, people? It might not be to your taste, but this album is subtly layered and, IMO, brilliant. Also, it's not 'just clicks and beeps'. Aside from the percussion and vocals, there's plenty of bass and a healthy dose of guitars.

Have you honestly even listened to this?

I heard the samples and it still sounds like a bunch of clicks and beeps to me, there's no stucture to it that I can hear and I used to do sound engineering and it sounds nothing like RHCP but it's not supposed to because it isn't rock and roll.
How have the record sales been doing on it? That is what difference it makes.

Dude, the whole album was streaming online a week before it came out. Stop talking about 30 second clips, do yourself a favor, and actually listen to it.

You asked "where is the rock n roll?" from a musician who hasn't done anything approaching that (save for maybe a few songs on In Rainbows) in over a decade, that's "so what?".

Rock & Roll is dead. RIP. It had a good run, but now it's over. This is better than any recent rock albums I've heard. Go listen to Bob Seeger if you want that old time rock & roll. Or go visit an old folks home. Gran-dad's probably dancing to some as we speak.

"Leave me alone don't want your promises no more 'cause rock and roll is my religion and my law, won't never change, may think it's strange, I want to rock and roll and I'm here to stay, yeah! - OZZY OSBOURNE.

Yeah, Ozzy: reality tv show with your family? ROCKNROLL! Lulz

Dean says:
The reality TV show was the creation of Sharon Osbourne and Ozzy did not want to do it but she talked him into it and it was stupid, it had nothing to do with his personal music career. And Sharon Osbourne was and is the problem for causing the fiasco at Glen Helen CA when Iron Maiden had the power cut off during thier concert set a few years ago and had all sorts of stuff like fruits thrown at them and it was very unprofessional and she got lambasted for it. So don't compare his music career with anything that his wife does. She was a good manager in the early years but she has become a joke now. She's the one that caused the burns reccently where Ozzy caught his hair on fire because of her candle burning at thier residence and Ozzy has banned candles from the house because of it.

Oh and one more thing, the band Motorhead proves that rock and roll it NOT DEAD!

Coming on a a forum complaining that a thom yorke record doesn't rock is like me complaining that Ozzy doesn't rap. And listening to samples pretty much negates an entire opinion.

"And listening to samples pretty much negates an entire opinion".

I beg to differ because listening to samples is how I bought most of my music and I have some pretty heavy stuff. It's what led me to buy the selections that I did.

It must suck to be so narrow minded as to listen to only one genre of music, dean.
