Romance may seem like an easy genre to write, but try finding a romance that has depth, story and enough emotion to keep you reading. It is much harder than it seems. Natasha Stories’s “What We Search For” hit all the right notes, and did it in a completely unique way – from the male view point.
As a woman who loves a good romantic tale, reading from the male perspective is both jarring, ad highly entertaining. There is a difference in tone and cadence that is not found in the female view, and this book pulled it off perfectly.
At 28, James was bored with his life in Australia, antsy and ready for a change. Having never seen snow before, he makes the drastic choice to travel to Canada – meeting a young woman, Amanda, in LA after a 16 hour flight. That brief encounter stayed with him, and set the ground work for an astounding reunion when Amanda shows up sometime later on the ski slope James is trying to navigate in Canada.
At parts sweet, others erotic, this is an entirely different kind of romance – the satisfying kind.

The story was written okay, but the storyline was very childish. A grown man, quits his job, moves to another country and does nothing but drink, play pool, and go snowboarding. Sounds like a fifteen year olds ideal life. Every scene with James and his friends or with James and Amanda, they were always drinking. James and Haley? Drinking. James and Bob? Drinking. Where was he getting his money? Why would Amanda even be interested in an unemployed drifter who has no ambition and no clue what he wants to do with his life? Honestly, he came across as a pathetic loser. I really didn't like him. It's like, great, you're in love, now get a job.

I loved it! The chemistry between the main protagonists really kept me turning those pages, and it was SO refreshing reading a romance from the male perspective. Definitely a hit which resonated deeply with me as I felt I could relate to James along his adventures.

From the steamy scenes to the banter between characters I quickly fell in love with this book.
Absolutely worth a read!

Who hasn't wanted to pull up roots after a break-up and just run away to the other side of the planet? I know I have but the furthest I've gotten was the other side of the country. I loved author Natasha Stories' "What We Search For", not just because one of the main characters, James, did this. I loved it because it was told from the man's point of view and we don't often get that in a romance. This was a well-written story and I also found Amanda's character to be very relatable. Definitely recommend.

I've read all the stories by Natasha, but this is the first time that she's written a first person story from a guys point of view, and I think she did it really well. A handsome ski instructor who's a little lost and searching for something that he doesn't quite understand or even know what it is. It was a really great story.

This was the first romance I'd read from the male perspective, and I think the author got it exactly right. (which is hard to do, believe me!) I loved it.
