For example, when going to Target, park as far as possible and get some extra steps in #wycwyc. Or get the side salad instead of the fries at the burger joint #wycwyc. Go to bed early so you’ll be ready for tomorrow #wycwyc.
I’ve been listening to their podcast on my own daily walks (#wycwyc baby!) and I love it. It’s like chatting with my best girlfriends (none of whom, sadly, live close enough to take a daily walk together). Their book is a series of short essays illuminating and exemplifying the #wycwyc philosophy and integrating it into your daily life. It’s just the daily shot of motivation needed to keep #wycwyc-ing your way to your goals.
Carla and Roni really want to create a social media community of wycwyc-ers coalescing around the #wycwyc on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. They are both super friendly and approachable, real women who really understand the struggles faced by the average woman, in the real world. Roni’s Green Lite Bites has long been a favorite go-to recipe site for me. Can't wait to see what they'll do next.

But I was wrong. It is so much more than that. It's a mind shift. It's a lifestyle. This book is for people like me that struggle with moderation. It's for everyone who ever had the dreaded all-or-nothing mentality. It is for everyone who strives to live a healthier life. Everyone who wants to improve and progress, no matter where they are in their fitness journey.
It's learning that all the little things add up to big things. You don't have to be perfect. You don't even have to strive for perfection. You just have to make the best decision that you can at the time. Something is better than nothing. This is a health and fitness book that preaches common sense, moderation and self-love. Unheard of. This book is a life-changer. #WYCWYC doesn't just apply to health and fitness. It is a whole new way of thinking that celebrates the small efforts, because small efforts repeated consistently over time snowball into big results. Mind blown.
As someone who has struggled with weight, food, exercise, and body image for most of her life, and has done it all from extreme diets and gimmicks to intuitive eating and being the Queen of Denial, I have come to a nice, healthy balance...and even before there was a book, #wycwyc helped me modulate the all-or-nothing Voice In My Head. Now all that wisdom is contained in a nice little book with bite-sized portions, inspirational quotes, and, best of all, common sense (which some of us need to be reminded of from time to time).
I love the bitesized gems inherent with the #wycwyc approach! Doable. Manageable. Effective. Taking little actions consistently helps to set ourselves up to succeed is the key for long term sustainable habits.
This book is readable - cover to cover - or it can be flipped through for little snippets like a daily reader.
It's on my nightstand and I grab it daily - it's always good for a great tip and a giggle.
