What's Going On?
A mind-boggling psychedelic funk, choppe up beats with machine noices. This release includes a lovely song about wanting to sleep in, some chopped-up beat collages, more of those trademark hypno-noise jam sessions, and a traumatic story about a dead rabbit. Fuzzhead proves that rock music still has a lot of creative possibilities, despite what you hear on the radio.
About the Artist
Fuzzhead is a great experimental rock band that earned a lot of attention in the last decade that they have been together. They have received enthusiastic reviews from top New York music critics, earned the praise and support from members of Sonic Youth, and made it to #6 on the Rolling Stone alternative rock charts. Amazingly, they have done all of this without having to abandon their wildly experimental approach to music-making. Their unique combination of ragged funk, psychedelic jamming, and acid-tinged collages, never fail to deliver the goods. The releases listed here are some of the most interesting early recordings from the band.
Find out why Estatic Peace released Fuzzhead and why they createad the soundtrack to Wayne Alan Harold's "Townies" currently out on DVD by Lurid Entertainment. There is a reason why Alan Licht called Bill Wieta "Best American psychedelic guitarist".
