This was a very entertaining review of several personality disorders using Batman as the subject. While very informative, it wasn't as thorough as I would have liked. But anyone who is both a fan of Batman and a psychology buff will appreciate this book.

A month or so ago, I heard the author's interview on NPR about this book and I was more than a little intrigued. I had just finished writing a superhero book of my own (Emily Dickinson, Superhero), and while researching my book, I found a book called, After Great Pain, which is a psychological analysis of Emily Dickinson based on her poetry and letters. It made me think, "Wouldn't it be cool if someone did an analysis of superheroes?" Well, Robin Rosenberg has and her book, What's The Matter With Batman is a wonderful look at Batman where she compares his history and behavior to see if he has any psychological disorders. It really was a fascinating read and made me think more about the motivations and actions of my own superhero characters.

Love this book. We have been trying to find it and was very glad we ordered it. Great thinking and mostly just fun to read. Happy that it was not torn, stained, ripped, bent, etc.
