Format: Paperback
The Hales, themselves economic advisers to world leaders, have assembled a prestigious group of practitioner-theorists to explore the economic outlook of every region of the world. This is not the typical book of facts or statistical guide. Every chapter thoughtfully integrates the political, social, and institutional aspects of countries to render opinions about their financial futures. The benefit to me as a lay reader is that this book entertainingly packs a lot of information about the world economy into a readable space. If you are an investor or analyst trying to get an edge, however, What's Next is an indispensable complement to your traditional reading list.

This book is a "must read" not only for investors and analysts, but also for professors, students and anyone interested in the international political economy. Concise and well-written, the Hales gather insight from experts in each geographical region, giving the reader greater insight into the subtleties of local policy decisions and their effect on the economy and investments in the future. The chapter on Mexico is especially good.
