About the Author
Molly is a wife, a mother of three sons, a grandmother, and the daughter and granddaughter of ranch managers—real Texas cowboys. She spent part of her growing up years on a 60,000-acre cattle ranch in South Texas where When the Cowboy Rides Away is set. She personally know several cowboys, and many of her ranch scenes were written from first-hand experience. A popular country song warns mamas not to let their babies grow up to be cowboys, but all three of Molly’s and her husband’s sons did just that.

When beautiful Maggie Gallagher finds an unconscious, wounded cowboy on her ranch, she knows her Christian duty is to nurse the handsome young man back to health in spite of her fears. This cowboy, however, behaves respectfully toward her, even though he doesn't remember who he is or what he was doing on her ranch.
Maggie and the cowboy, whose name she believes to be Alex Lancaster because of a letter he carried in his pocket, draw closer together, and both realize their feelings for each other are growing. Maggie offers Alex the job of foreman of her ranch, and although Alex knows there are bad goings-on in the area and that he needs to find out his identity and past before he can allow anything more to develop between them, he accepts the job.
Alex is a good cowboy and obviously knows the ranching business, but his continuing presence threatens several sinister forces who have designs on Maggie and her ranch. As his memory returns, he becomes an even greater danger, and his true identity may unleash the greatest devastation of all on Maggie's unsuspecting heart.
