I have only gotten half way through the book so far and I have gotten some very helpful information. I really like the Q & A section and have skipped ahead to some of the meal plans and recipes which all look very doable and simple. I hope to put this into action soon and see myself at a healthy weight soon!

Ridiculous price tag for the info in this book. Really not useful to anyone who has a general sense of healthy eating. I thought it was going to be timing of certain foods throughout the day to fuel and nourish resulting in weight loss. Disappointed.

As a dietitian, I have already started recommending this book to clients seeking a simple nutrition guide. If you are trying to lose 10 lbs or 100 lbs, this book will help answer every potential question you might have along your path to healthier eating. For instance, how do you start eating breakfast when you're not a breakfast eater? How do you handle healthy eating when you're working late and your work team is ordering in dinner? How do you deal with a grumbling belly while your preparing dinner without diving into a bag of chips? It even dabbles in answering sports nutrition questions like how to properly carb load for a triathlon or the best way to eat pre- and post-workout. Plus, it comes with a 2-week meal plan to help guide you along.

There are many nutrition and healthy eating books out there written by unqualified authors. McIndoo is well-qualified as she is a registered dietitian who has worked with patients for over 12 years in a clinical setting. She is also a former spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association and has written for magazines such as Shape and Prevention. McIndoo's approach to healthy eating is no nonsense. She promotes practical eating techniques that you can use for the rest of your life. There is nothing gimmicky about her approach.

If you would like a personal dietitian at your disposal every day, then buy this book!

It doesn't get much easier than this. The author speaks in a caring voice and tells you exactly what you want to know. What should you eat to boost your energy; what should you eat when your body says "I'm hungry" at 10:00 at night and so much more. Her advice is good for weight loss, but also for anyone just wanting to eat well. I like that you don't have to read the entire book before making changes. It's easy to search just what you're interested in or simply flip the book to a random page and learn something new. This information is practical and pertinent.

If you want to lose weight, maintain weight or just become healthier for the rest of your life, this book will help you on your journey. Many of us have busy schedules these days, this book is geared towards the busy individual. The information is based on research and science and does not recommend restricting or deprivation. It makes practical recommendations and provides helpful tricks and suggestions for getting started living healthier. This is no fad diet, nor is it restrictive at all. She even provides strategies for bumps in the road and gives specific examples including recipes and a sample meal plan. Throughout the book, she answers MANY common questions and nutrition myths. This book is well-rounded, informative and a must read for any health concious person.
