This read is Far from artificial. Neither is it exaggerated to appease egos and make sales; this is real life experience.
The author has been transparently open, revealing her painful waiting periods, one of the most crucial being unable to conceive. She implements within the pages, the practices she undertook to encourage and advise you on how to successfully weather whatever waiting period you are battling; for when God says wait, we need to understand it's beyond our control.
Lizzy also gathers various waiting periods within the Bible, outlining the practices of the individuals who triumphed past their trials. Not just any member of the Bible though, but key influential figures of history such as King David, Mary the mother of Jesus, Sarah (Abraham- the father of nations wife- who was unable to conceive) etc.
In the modern world, also known as the Microwave society where everything is wanted right there and than, waiting is a practice that most need to master.
In a society where the pressure to have this and have that, to be married at a certain age, to have a degree, to have a job, waiting is imperative.
This book delves into the emotions we feel during our waiting process, encouraging us that it's normal but advising how to alter our perspective and how we can successfully endure our waiting season.
Overall this book has so many nuggets of goodness! I have quickly applied lots to my own life as well as sharing bits with my friends. It's a great read for individual or a study group!
