He gives very practical help by giving questions for you to consider. For example, are you suffering as a result of a consequence of your actions or a "trial" from God to strengthen you? Or, are you spending all your time and energy fighting off the situation instead of embracing it in submission/realistically and working at figuring out what you can learn from it? Are you trusting your creator, not giving in to quitting, persevering with whatever it is day-by-day, and becoming humble instead of bitter? Remember, God is there with you always. Read 1 Peter 4, James 1, Hebrews 12, 2 Corinthians 12.
But what if the opposite occurs as it inevitably does?
Was God asleep at the wheel? Was he not in control? How could these "bad" or "hard" things be part of His Plan since he is such a loving God?
This is what James MacDonald explores in depth to remind us that we are blessed in all things. It is a hard reminder but an important reminder as we have to decide for ourselves that God is in complete control of His Creation and that He knows what is best for us in a Kingdom context.
MacDonald knows this for a fact. Remember, he was undergoing cancer chemo during this. . .
