This dvd is awesome! It's funny, entertaining and real. I liked how relateable and real the characters seemed and the overall presentation of the play. It was like I was watching a movie and not a stage play. Another thing I enjoyed most was the story content. The message pointed back to Christ. The bonus material was really cool too. Overall I loved it and would recommend it!

When I found out both Wendy Raquel Robinson and Clifton Powell were in this DVD I had to purchase it! These two actors along with Lloyd and Keith Robinson did an excellent job. Sometimes these plays are over dramatized but this one was very real. I could really relate to each character. Hopefully they'll air this on TV soon.

From a literary standpoint, I would say this PLAY was not good. None of the characters really "grew" or changed. There was a climax with an "up in the air" resolution. Some of the acting and singing was very poor. The grandmother and grandfather characters were very annoying and were used to draw the characters away from the main plot. A majority of the singing was random and unfitting. I can understand having REAL singers performing and singing but people that really can't sing like the grandpa singing, really? Don't get me started on the poorly designed stage that had confused old props.
The casting was bad for the supposed high school students. Alicia was played by Shenae Edwards who looked at least 27 or 28 but was playing a 16 year old? And Lloyd as Kenneth, a high school student with that many tattoos? They could have at least gotten people that looked like they could be in high school. The best actors were the three main characters Gary, Shelia and Freddy.

~ WARNING SPOILER! ~
The main character, Gary, is an african american male that is in his late to mid thirties. He hasn't achieved much in life and is still trying to become a R&B star. He has a 16 year old daughter Alicia (who looks 36) that wants to follow in his footsteps. His wife died from a drug overdose and Gary lies to his daughter telling her it was from cancer. In the end he finds out that his wife Shelia was cheating on him with his best friend Freddy. Freddy's son Kenneth happens to be VERY close to Alicia, predictable. Freddy gets full blown AIDS, then it is ASSUMED that Shelia has AIDS as well. It is never said. So we can then assume that Gary has AIDS as well. Alicia has a new glimmer of hope and wins a songwriting contest. Thats how the play ends. Saved you $3.99 don't buy it.

The movie was good! But the songs were horrible. They sounded as if they made the words up as they song. The grandfather's wife should have been left at home because she was not funny and she was getting on your nerves for acting so stupid, bad acting. Love the storyline. The majority all star cast is what really made this movie and loved the grandfather especially. It really is worth a watch.

The movie was ok. I did not care too much for the Grandfather wife, she was not funny. Some of the jokes were not funny. They seem to try to get the point a cross. The ending was not right. They left you to your imagination. It was okay like I said. There was nothing special that stood out.

I was so amazed that this wasn't your typical black stage play. THe writing is great is and stays in focus of the main idea. The characters aren't over explained. I actually just an email from a friend with a download link of the first single from the soundtrack: [...] Check out the music and YOU BE THE JUDGE!
