The last installment left us wondering what would happen now that she was perceived as a floozy. I loved the drama that I imagined would come from this, but I didn't really get it until about 40% into the story. It stared, instead, with Vassi struggling to love someone as horrible as she pretended to be. I was a little surprised, really, that he wasn't more disturbed by her 'big reveal', but still happy that he wasn't too blind to see things for what they were. This was mainly all about the dramas of misunderstanding and assuming the worse in someone. I feel like I was crying the entire time I was reading it, until Seri got just a bit too self-sacrificing for me. I don't mind that bit, but rather the way she tried so hard to be 'like this', only to then burn 'like that' when something happened. Frustrating at times, but still satisfying. I don't think I would've wanted her to be any other way.
Vassi- oh boy. I just wanted to smack him, sometimes! He was so infuriating with his- ugh i won't spoil it. But damn. Daaaaamn. *cough* This was a very entertaining read that kept tugging at the right threads in my chest. I LOVE drama, so this gave me that and more. The whole relationship of them being 'siblings' was handled pretty well. It wasn't disturbing, and if you want to get technical, they're not blood related, but rather "both adopted" by the same man. If anything, I think I was more surprised by the way their brothers and father handled their big reveal, instead of the relationship itself lol. And the ENDING!!!!!! Ohhh my God. It's because of things like this that I can confidently say: sexuals and heartache. If I'm not burning from the pit of my stomach, I'm sobbing or laughing. I feel like a schiz lol
This is a definite recommend (start with book 1) for this series if it sounds like something you'd like.
So suspend your disbelief and you might enjoy the final part of this story.
It picks up right where we left off in the last book when Seri bless her heart gave up her family for the man she loved. Basis who is always a jerk that we just can't help to love. From start to finish I could not stop reading and I was so happy to see the whole family again! If you enjoyed the other two books you will not be disappointed.
I appreciate that time is taken to develop the secondary characters as well. One of my favorite parts of reading a Marian Tee book is getting attached to all of the characters. She makes you want to know their stories too. I hope that we get to read more from this group.
