About the Author
A leading series romance writer, Cait London is a national award-winning bestselling author. She writes articles, is a speaker, and fully enjoys the perks of her career, like meeting readers. Her love of the West is demonstrated in her books. Call's contemporary style involves humor and bringing characters to life by using their pasts and their heritages. "I love digging in genealogy and heritages, and creating them," she says."Really neat characters are born out of immigrant heritages or descendants of Native Americans. The contemporary blend makes fascinating texture."
Of German-Russian descent (with rumors of an Austrian princess in her lineage), Cait grew up in rural Washington State. She is now a resident of Missouri and the mother of three daughters, all taller than she.The best events of her life have always been in threes. Cait London says, "I enjoy creating romantic collisions between dark, brooding heroes and contemporary, strong, active women who know how to manage their lives. Readers are the best perks in this game and I love meeting them. I believe that each of my books is a gift to a reader, a part of me on those pages, and I'm thrilled when readers say, 'That was a good book.'--This text refers to an alternate kindle_edition edition.

The weekly movie night and Ice Cream Cones afterward was interupeded by the death of their friend Lauren. Uma saw the mans face as he shot Lauren out the car window. She dropped to the sidewalk to her friend and got Lauren's sticky blood on her hands. She gave the police a good discription of the shooter and the car, how could they not have found them yet?
The Warren brothers had left town as soon as Mitchell got out of the hospital. He had been able to drag his father Fred out of the fire but he had died on the way to the Hospital. He told Mitchell to go to their mother. That he had always loved her and everything was his fault. Mitchell never told his brother Roman what their father told him. The woman had left them when he was young and he believed she didn't want them.
Mitchell was now a successful businessman. He quit his job and returned to Madrid, Oklahoma, a town that hated the Warrens. He wanted to see if he could make sense of what had happened to him as a young man. He found nothing had changed. The people in town were still suspiscious and mean.
Uma' mother and grandmother were the town historians and knew all the secrets, even about Fred and Grace Warren. Maybe she could help Mitchell, but only if he asked.
Mitchell's brother Roman returns to help his brother and his own entanglements haunt him.
This is a good story of no one talking about the past. Macho man stuff. Romance helps unlock the need to open up the old hurts to find out the real truth. Having to protect the girls from a seriel killer also brings the brothers closer. Why is someone trying to kill the group of childhood friends? Someone has taken on the persona of Clyde Barrow, a onetime visitor to Madrid, to do his killing spree.
