its an okay read, but not nearly as good as the first two books. What i liked about the first two was the in depth analysis on each study. By definition blogs are not meant to be be detailed.

i was listening to the book on CD on my drive to work. There is no way i would have been able to get through reading this.

Still it did have some interesting sections which is why i gave it two stars.

Save your money and wait until the write a real book again.

I enjoyed a couple of the authors other books but this is just a random collection of stuff from their blog that does not advance the idea of 'economic thinking' very much. It felt more like an attempt at getting another book out there without having to actually write it. I did not read through it as a result. Maybe it gets better as you go along? I wasn't interested enough to find out.

Freakanomics was once really awesome, I was addicted to their podcast for a long time. Now it seems like they've deviated and aren't really programming original thought leadership anymore. In the last year I've stopped listening as it just wasn't really thought provoking anymore and this book put it over the edge to me. Collection of short stories (basically blog posts, which I knew ahead of time), some of which are interesting, but for the most part not really worth it.

This is just a collection of their blog posts. Not well organized and not thorough.

After reading their other Freakonomic books, I was very disappointed in this one. The format rehashes their blogs and lacks the in-depth discussions of the other books. I started the book but haven't finished it yet.

Read the blog instead. As incoherent as a five year old after a box of fruit roll ups.

Points for occasionally saying something in a unique fashion. Deductions for endless platitudes from stuffy old folk sipping sweat tea on a summer porch.

Honestly I would not recommend buying this book. If you do not already know, the book is a compilation of blogs from the authors' website. I do not feel like the blogs really go in depth on any one topic though. I thought this book would be similar to Malcom Gladwell's "What the Dog Saw", which was a compilation of his New York Times articles. That book had short excerpts but they were long enough to give you a thorough analysis into a topic. I enjoyed Freakanomics and I am a big behavioral economics reader. I so far of not like this book though.

The writing was solid and insightful as always, but I was disappointed to find that it was just a collection of blog posts. I expected something that more closely resembled an actual book, and felt a little bit duped when all I got was a collection of blog posts.

A couple great entries and then a mass of filler. Word minimums are annoying, Amazon, so stop forcing needless wordiness.

I expected much better from these authors. This shouldn't have been published as a "book" since they just assembled and reused their existing material.
