I really loved both Adam and Evie. Meeting them 10 years ago tells the story of how they met and became a couple leading up to the actual marriage. As teenagers, they were perfect for each other, there was no doubt that they belonged together and what they gave up to be with one another. Adam had never had a girlfriend before and Evie didn't have a lot of time to devote to a boyfriend, but they made it work because they were fully committed so it didn't feel rash or like a stretch when Adam proposed.
Adam was abruptly abandoned and never got closure from Evie's departure after he gave her his heart. As angry and upset as Adam is, there's still unfinished business between them and in order to move on, he needs answers. Evie is really relatable. She was put between a rock and a hard place and now she's being confronted to dish out an explanation that she's afraid to reveal because if she thought she lost her love once and it broke her, she could lose him forever this time and be completely devastated. Their situation is complicated because no one comes out a winner and even if there's a possibility of reconciliation, will they be able to forgive and forget the past? Yet when they were apart, Adam and Evie were not living their lives fully. Still, what good is love if there's no trust?
I really enjoyed the tension, the feels and the dialogue, certain parts really hurt, too. So much pain created from so much love on both sides. My heart broke for both of them, Adam for being in the dark and Evie for having to make a tough decision. I was able to predict the reason behind Evie's leaving ahead of time and understood where she was coming from. The ending felt just a teensy bit rushed, but otherwise, this is very well-written and I definitely recommend it. I also hope it's not too soon to request a story about Max someday.
Samantha just has this fantastic writing style I just had to read it. She pulls you in with her stories and you feel all of the emotion that she puts into words.
I had many emotions reading this, I definitely laughed Adam and Evie would talk to themselves, it's really cute and funny.
I smiled a lot when reading their journey, they had such a fresh fun kind of love. And I hurt I hurt so much for what they had to go through and the choices they had to make.
I ugly cried big fat ugly tears too.
Read this book you will be so very happy that you did.
It's just phenomenal.
The book is structured in alternating POV and time chapters, narrating the story of Adam and Evie when they met as teenagers and the present time when they meet again after 10 years. It's a little frustrating because the author keeps us on the dark of why Evie left. However, at some time in the book you suspect what the reason was, and it made perfect sense.
At first, the alternating chapters of present and past time are a bit annoying, but they work because they are well identified as to time and character. I think the author did a great job, juggling different POV's with different times and having it all worked out great.
I loved Adam and Evie's love story, totally recommend this book.
Fast track to ten years after and Adam is still a wreck. He thought he has a good excuse to be a dog, a manwhore instead of putting his grown man pants on. I don't know why his dick has not withered away from genitalia disease. I don't really like men who turns to serial sex to get over a heartbreak.
In any case so the two met again and from Adam's perspective he wants to know why Evie left. She didn't confess the truth, and that was annoying, I kind of guessed. The long and short of it was that we get a long drawn out suspense about the reason for the break up. The author also interspersed the past with the present, it was okay up to a point, later I just wanted to know about what is happening now.
I give this a four star.
Adam and Evie are the couple everyone strives to be. They may be young, but they are head over heels in love with each other.
So what could possibly tear them apart? What destroys a marriage? What hurts Adam and Evie beyond repair?
This is one of those books you need to read to truly appreciate. It's a book you should experience. You don't want the details because the details are what make the book. Those details make the story. Those details, the little ones and the big ones, make Adam and Evie.

I'm not sure why I didn't totally connect. Maybe because I've read so many books of hers in a row? I'm not sure.Read more
