Emberly and Jackson share a long history going way back to them being kids. I felt an immediate connection with them and as they got older my connection only strengthened. Their love was pure and innocent yet also very sensual.
Jackson and Emberly are victims of their surroundings meddling and judgements. Finding their way back to each other was a ride filled with emotions and so many interesting people who had an opinion of them as a couple. I enjoyed myself so much in Emberly and Jackson's company.
There's no doubt that they're soulmates cause their love and history are heartbreaking and beyond beautiful. Their chemistry and connection is out of this world! Whenever they're around one another sparks and need were all over place. I loved it.
I loved that they'd learned from past mistakes and when it finally mattered they stood by one another.
Emberly's bestie Tabby was incredible and the perfect and loyal support for her. Other characters like Coco and André made an impact on me as they also did on Jackson.
There's some surprises along the way and I liked the twist and turns only adding unpredictability to the story which I appreciate.
When We Touch is an incredible second chance romance that delivers with strong and layered characters and bucketful of emotions. Just what I needed and can't recommend it enough.
Ten years ago Jackson and Ember promised they would always be together and him leaving for college wouldn't change that, but everything changed the day he left, and now he's back in town and so much hurt is now between them. With so many secrets and betrayals between these two, and so many things put between them to keep them apart, it's amazing that their connection is as strong as it still is. Neither of them have ever truly gotten over one another, but there is a distance between them, and Ember definitely has her walls up against Jackson.
Watching these two dance around one another in the first part of this book, and seeing both of their points of view, we knew that there was definitely a misunderstanding that kept them apart, but holy crap, when you find out the depths of betrayal and the lies that kept them apart, it angered me, and I was glad that these two were able to finally talk. These two definitely belong to one another, but there are so many forces, ten years later, still trying to keep them apart. They truly do deserve their chance, and each time they finally start to get it, something comes up. I loved Ember's friend Tabby and how she forced Ember to be happy, and give her happiness a priority in her life. It seemed as if Ember just seemed to go with the flow and let others make the decisions for her, so she wouldn't rock the boat, but as the book went on, she definitely found her voice again, and I loved this.
This book definitely had many twists and turns, and we got to see so many secrets and lies come to light from many characters in this book. Small town life is definitely in play in this book, and I fell in love with most of the characters in this book. Watching Ember and Jackson finally reconnect, and see the love they have for one another is beautiful. The lengths that Jackson will go through to keep Ember in his life now that he has her again is amazing. This is truly a beautiful second chance romance and I definitely fell in love with these characters and their story.
If you're looking for a second chance romance full of sexiness, secrets, drama, and a bit of suspense, then When We Touch by Tia Louise is definitely the book you need to pick up!

When We Touch is a beautiful, very funny in parts yet emotionaly charged story about Ember and Jackson's love for each other. All their hopes and dreams are dashed early on. Ember's mother and Jackson father were behind it all, they were to blame for sabotaging their relationship, they were made to believe either one had moved on.
Almost 11 yrs on and Jackson decides he's had enough of the corporate and corruptive world he's been living in...he wants to come home.
There's only one person on his mind, he's never forgotten Ember she's always been his home, but she won't be there or so he thinks.
This story already has you hooked because the surprise of what's to come fills you with hope. Unfortunately there's a mixture of shock, disappointment and unanswered questions that need to be dealt with.
Jackson being back in Oceanside Villiage and knowing that Ember never left is a start but it's not going to be easy, it's not just Ember now, she has a daughter Coco and she wonders what Jackson thinks of that.
Whilst Jackson knows what may have caused their relationship to suffer Ember doesn't and this is where the anticipation starts to build, it makes you feel incredibly anxious for many reasons, Ember's mother Marjorie doesn't help she's still hell bent on controlling Ember's life when it comes to Jackson, I'm just glad Ember sees her for what she really is and stood up to her as much as she did.
As this brilliant storyline continues we start to learn a little more in the hopes that this will help Ember and Jackson's relationship.
It took Jackson rescuing her after a disasterous date with Bucky before she realises she can't stay away from him any longer. After breathing a sigh of relief you can only hope this is a positive move.
Ember and Jackson's relationship is as beautiful as ever and the bond between Coco and Jackson is building nicely as they start to get to know each other.
There are some very touching moments... moving into the cottage and Coco getting her dream bedroom and just the way Jackson is, always taking care of what's his.
We get a lovely build up to the end although it doesn't come without a level of hesitation as Jackson takes care of unfinished business but it's all in true Tia Louise fashion.!
When We Touch: A second-chance romance
Jackson and Ember should always have been together but due to meddling, judgmental attitudes, misunderstanding and a lack of communication that can come with being young, they spent a long time apart and both harbored hurt and heartache that was brought to the fore when they came into contact again after 10 long years!
Things have changed for both of them, they are no longer where they imagined where they would be both personally and professionally, but the one thing that remained the same was the fact that they still loved each other.
Watching them rekindle their feelings, work through their emotions and get to the truth of what happened to them was a really great read.
There were a couple of characters that I'd have happily buried in the woods.... you'll get who when you read, but asides from them the supporting characters were great and very likable.
A well written, heart-grabbing book from Tia Louise that I read in a day as I so needed to know how things would work out for the pair!
I'm giving When We Touch 5 well deserved stars!
This is a second chance romance with Jackson and Ember, who are young lovers whose relationship is cut short when Jackson moves away to college. His promise that he will come back for her doesn't happen and Ember is left to move on in life feeling angry that he forgot her so quickly.
Eleven years later he comes back to town and we start to learn what was behind the young lovers' unexpected split. Ember is clearly still bitter about Jackson's actions and tries to resist his attention. Whilst they still clearly have feelings for each other, Ember understandably has her guard up and doesn't make things easy for Jackson.
Tia Louise successfully conveys all of the angst and emotion with this romance and there are some very tense moments wondering whether things will work out for this couple.
I was on the edge of my seat rooting for these two!!
