"Though Oravecz writes about a consuming and destructive love, the book is an exploration of--one might even say an essay on--the psychology of loss... Oravecz knows how to move beyond the voyeuristic or confessional and how to endow even the most personal of memories and experiences with broad and universal appeal." -- THE PROSE POEM, vol. 4, 1995

The first poem starts with the hopeful words of the beginning of a love affair and counterplays them in reverse, the demise of the affair, in the second half of that poem. The poems that follow describe events of the affair, but each ends with a powerful final thought.
I have never been so struck by words playing off each other. The construction of these paragraphs gave me deep pleasure and satisfaction. I can understand why it sold out in a few hours in Hungary. I do believe it's my favorite book ever.
