"Rodway and Madden's book When Your SpouseLoses a Parent: What to Say & What to Do is a thoughtful, useful addition to the literature on adult sons' and daughters' coping with thedeath of a mother or father. Heretofore, books on the death of parentshaven't paid much attention to the challenges that spouses face. Rodwayand Madden's book closes that gap. Readers will find both general informationand specific insights for wives and husbands who are trying to work their waythrough this significant life event. The authors provide an accessibleoverview of loss and bereavement; and they offer practicalsuggestions (in Q-and-A format) for helping spouses cope with the aftermathof loss. The result will benefit many couples -- and, indeed, entirefamilies."

From the Author
In addition to these experiences, I have, as a mother, watched my children go through the heartbreak of losing their beloved fatherand their intense grief process. They were fortunate in that each of mychildren had someone to support them. This book was inspired by the examples Iwitnessed as my children grieved, fully supported by their loving partners.Humbly, I recognized that although there might be "no love stronger than amother's", partners support each other in a different, yet equally loving way.
