Hesitation aside, I saw the numerous good reviews this book had. I recently finished and loved Desperately Seeking Epic by the same author. Plus, the book was on sale when I was thinking about reading it.
Every single good review this book has was well earned. This book is flat out amazing.
I was hooked from the very beginning. The story, even the paranormal aspects, felt believable and real. It didn't feel outlandish or over the top in the least bit. I was extremely impressed early on with how easily I was invested in the story.
And let me tell you about this story! Wow. This was raw and emotional in a way that I really didn't expect. It was bittersweet in such a heartbreaking way that I can't even begin to explain. I loved it. Where One Goes was so much better than I could have ever anticipated.
This is, without any doubts, one of my top books of 2016. If you're looking for a romance, and don't mind a tearjerker, Where One Goes will not disappoint.
Ike cant help be thankful shes going to help him. So he sends her into town his hometown. To the people he knows that will help her and will believe her.
He wants Char to help his twin bro George so of course when she meets the brother she wants to faint. She cant believe shes look at Ike but Not. George has been going down hill since his brothers death and drugs, drinking and sleep with his bartender who happens to be taken by someone else. Is never good. George gives Char a job even though he didnt want to. Charlotte and George clash. Neither back down. She has no idea how to help him or Ike.
This book gutted me. The end balled like a baby I loved IKE that was so touching and just pure love
The Mercers are so freaking cute and Cameron is hysterical.
Sniper such a dirty dog but so loyal.
' Listen,I dont know you or what you've been through, but I know I'd give anything to still be alive right now, no matter what."
I love Charlotte, Ike, and George as characters. Ike was an amazing person and would have continued to be an amazing person if he hadn't died. But he loves his family and especially his brother that he will do whatever he can for him. George's life has been in chaos since Ike passed away. He's been doing drugs, drinking heavily, and messing around a woman that is nothing but trouble. The town they lived in has some really great people that are just what Charlotte needs.
I don't even know how to express how much I loved this book. It is so beautifully written that in some places it almost feels like poetry. In other places it had me lol. When I read the description of the book and saw the paranormal theme, I almost passed it by because too often that becomes either silly or just plain unbelievable. Not so in this case. In fact, it was so convincingly done, it was one of the best parts of the book. Ike, the "soul" stuck in limbo trying to help his twin brother deal with his death, finds Charlotte, a woman trying, reluctantly, to cope with the "gift" she never wanted....being able to see and talk to dead people.
The relationship triangle that developed between these three characters, as Charlotte tries to help George, Ike's twin, cope with his loss, is all at once heartwarming, heartbreaking, funny, beautiful!
I love this book and this author, who is new to me! Amazing!!!!
