Speaking of bloodshed, this brings me back around to why I hate Yolanda right now. The way she wrote the final scenes in this book made me realize what a monster I am. Her description of events is masterfully minimal, which means most of the gory details (and I do mean gory) are supplied by my own imagination. She didn't go into long-winded descriptions, she let me see for myself how sick I am. I can't just sit here and think, "Man, these guys are screwed up." I'm forced to sit with myself and realize... I'M screwed up.
So I hate Yolanda for that. By which I mean I love her and you should get this book.
When first getting to know Fai and Koval, they seem like your normal couple who like spicing things up every now and then by adding a third. That’s where Angie comes in. However, things take a wrong turn when a drunk Angie says all the wrong things and sends Koval into a downward spiral.
In an effort to save Koval from himself, Fai gets Angie to take him across the border to their secluded cabin. Angie is hell bent on making it up to the two men in any way she can. That was her first mistake.
I spent the whole book falling in love with Fai and Koval. I felt that Koval was full of angst and had major issues, while Fai fought to keep him balanced. It’s this reason that I never would have guessed the ending.
Technically this book would be considered a horror, but honestly it doesn’t read that way. More like a suspense. You know something is going to go terribly wrong, but you don’t know when or how.
That’s all I can say without giving away the ending. So you’ll just have to read it for yourself
Koval has a sad past that you can't help feeling for him and you don't even know why, he draws you in and you can't help but put him in your heart. The connection between the two main characters is beautiful if not a little messed up even though you don't know why, then enters Exxie, young, reckless and stupid and you just know it won't end well.
The book keeps you hooked throughout wondering what happened and what is going to happen, i loved every minute and like all of her books so far, i did not see the ending coming.
No matter which book of Yolanda's i pick up, i devour them all and want more.
Koval was shattered at a young age because of a girl named Exxie. Now at the age of 25 he is with his lover fai. I'm not going to lie the steamy scene between these two was kinda hot. Koval brings home a girl named Angie. She reminds Koval of Exxie. Will Angie survive?
it was amazing
Delve into the psyche's of two young lovers, Fai and Koval, as only Yolanda Olson can. Fai the charismatic calm beneath the storm with a secret that could devastate his lover's world. Koval, the storm. Handsome, angry and hurt. He has a deep pain that haunts him but his love for Fai keeps him going. Enter the "third" and this is where the author takes you into her world like no one else can.
Yolanda Olson takes you on a journey of love, pain, abuse, and most of all endless devotion. The psychological warfare will grip you and rip you apart from beginning until the end.
Maybe it's just me and I'm becoming desensitized to these types of stories. Something for me to ponder.
My favorite part is the ending where, as the reader, you get to see how Fai and Koval met. THAT gave me the creeps which is what I consider this authors signature. Love the cover, too.
You know that something is a bit off about Fai and Koval, but it is not until quite the end you find out exactly how and why. They fit so well together, both of them disturbed beings.
And the cover is just perfect for the story. Dark and twisted.

Koval and Fai were ideal for each other, and when Koval went into one of his dark moods, Fai was there to pick up the pieces. When Koval picked up Angie has she reminded him of Exxie, Fai knew that he could use it to his advantage. The ending left you wanting to know more about Koval and Fai and whilst I realised what was going to happening Angie, I was surprised at the epilogue.
I enjoy all of this author’s books and she is a must buy when she releases a new book. However, I found this one to be a slower starter, as all the dark action happened in the last 15% of the book. Saying that when the action happened it was true to form, bloody and graphic and new way to imagine docking, emphasising how perfect they were for each other.
I will just leave you with words of advice when you are preparing your dinner “Cook your favourite meal, like it’s your last day on earth”
I certainly will be reading more from this talented author and highly recommend this book if you are a fan of well written dark and at times depraved stories. (less)

So after picking this one, I went in ........And OMG......I have just found my new favourite dark author!
I just can't put into words how Yolanda Olson makes me feel, but she makes me feel everything while reading her books.
This is my second book and my mind is just......I can't even find the words to describe! Or even how much I love her writing and her dark twisted mind!!!!
I'm now off to find my next book to read and I can't wait!
It one of those that you just know isn't going to end well because the characters just aren't right on some messed up level.
Just when you think you may have them figured out you don't.
It messes with your mind like a horrific horror film that you just have to keep watching or page turning in this case.
This Author writes these effed up books perfectly with the added shock factor needed to make you shudder and think WTF was that and why did I enjoy it.
