"A brilliant new voice in romance" - NYT Bestselling Author Kristen Proby

About the Author

K.L. Grayson resides in a small town outside of St. Louis, MO. She is entertained daily by her extraordinary husband, who will forever inspire every good quality she writes in a man. Her entire life rests in the palms of six dirty little hands, and when the day is over and those pint-sized cherubs have been washed and tucked into bed, you can find her typing away furiously on her computer. She has a love for alpha-males, brownies, reading, tattoos, sunglasses, and happy endings…and not particularly in that order.

This was an enjoyable book despite the fact that there was immediate heartache in the beginning. This book was the story of Tyson and Harley. It was told in dual POVs and we are introduced to the fact our protagonists grew up together as babies and became best friends as children and all the way through college. Harley revealed to Tyson her friendship had become more on the day of their college graduation. It was not an unrequited love, but there was no HEA at the end of that day. Five years pass and they are thrown back together because of work and mutual friends. Tyson finally realized that Harley was the love of his life and now had to prove and fight for her because of Harley's current situation. I loved the interaction between Tyson and the third party possibly hindering Harley and his HEA. Not surprisingly, they were so funny and happy. The author did a great job in building the anticipation of their coupling. You are at the edge of your seats while reading, wondering if it will ever happen. You will enjoy reading this book because of that along with the witty and funny dialogue and the interesting and laughable inner thoughts of the characters.

Spoilers ahead***

Your so called best friend tells you they are in love with you and you turn your back and cut off all contact for 5 years? When you come back she forgives you immediately and still continues to give you chances while you act like a douche every time.

I couldn't like or enjoy this book due to main H being a total idiot who doesn't deserve the h. Biggest mistake this book made was not letting Harley (h) ride off into the sunset with Levi. Skimmed from about 60% in.

This whole book can be summed up in one word: predictable!

*** spoilers***

After the prologue you are aware that she had been raped by someone she knows.

Fast forward 5 years and you see that she had a kid. So now you know that she became pregnant after being raped by someone she knows.

Enter the best friend who left her 5 years ago who wants to immediately be in a relationship despite the fact that he blew her off that horrible night and hasnt spoken to her in 5 years

So now the big predictable problem: when is she going to let him know she was raped and that she had a son as a result of the rape

And even after all of the clues of how much the boy looks like the best friends brother - he still doesn't get it,

So then we have to have the final predictable moment where he finds out it was his brother who raped her songs that the boy is his nephew.

In between that there are jealous fits and awkward conversation.

With the sensitive topic in this book i thought that maybe it would tug on the heart strings a little, that i would feel some sort of connection to the characters - nope.

This book was such an amazingly heartbreaking, healing read! Unfortunately when Harley decides to tell her best friend Ty that she is actually in love with him, things go on a downhill spiral. First Ty walks out and doesnt look back , then Harley hits rock bottom. How could things get any worse. Well when Ty refuses to talk to her and then she ends up pregnant, that's how. Thankfully Harley can see the silver lining and becomes everything to her son. But when Ty walks back into her life five years later, he could never imagine what that girl has been through.
This story really touched me. It takes place in the area I grew up in so it totally caught my eye. But the heart breaking emotion that is in this book keeps you going and wanting more and more. I laughed and cried (ALOT), but in the end K.L. puts your heart back together again! Fantastic book!!!

I was not rooting for Tyson and Harley while reading this book. Tyson was beyond weak. He is an idiot. Harley was a doormat. After 5 years of silence, especially when Harley needed Tyson the most, she forgives him within 5 minutes. Tyson screws up again, Harley instantly forgives him. Rinse and repeat. At this point, I want Harley to kick Tyson to the curb and go after Levi, who seemed to just drop off the face of the earth. The twist with Max's father was wrapped up too easily.

4.5 Amazing Debut Stars!!!!

Sometimes when you're reading a debut novel, it's either hit or miss. Well, let me tell you, Where We Belong is definitely a hit!! I'm still surprised that this is K.L. Grayson's first book.

Where We Belong had me hooked from the beginning. I thought to myself, "Oh my god! This book is going to break me". There was so much angst and heartbreak, just in the prologue. And if you know me, you know I'm a big fan of well written angst. I knew from that moment that I wasn't going to be able to put this book down.

Where We Belong follows the story of Harley and Ty, best friends since babies. Somewhere along the way, Harley developed more than friendly feelings for Ty and finally gets up the courage to tell him. Unfortunately, Ty did not react the way that Harley was hoping for. He walks away and never looks back. Harley is destroyed and seeks comfort from a familiar face. What happens next will change Harley's life forever. Now 5 years later, Ty has come home and wants to make up for his mistakes. But 5 years with no word, is a long time. Will Harley be able to forgive Ty for walking out on her and their friendship? Will Harley and Ty finally have their chance at something more????

Where We Belong is a wonderful story of forgiveness, hope and second chances. This story did deal with some very tough issues and I felt that the author handled them very well. The characters were very likable and so easy to connect with. I admired Harley's strength and how she overcame a very dark period in her life. And Ty.....I loved watching him fight for his second chance with Harley. Their chemistry was undeniable.
