This is the first book that I have read in a while that was not a trilogy or had a follow up book. This story ends at a good place and made me feel complete at the end. Could I get more of Harley's story??? Sure but as a reader I am not hanging on for 6 months waiting for the story to continue! I loved it and I waited 2 months for this book and I am super glad that I read it! The writer pulled my heart and completely put it back in its place by the end of the book!
Thank you Mrs. Grayson!
Tyson blew up and then walked out of the party with another woman on his arm, leaving broken and devastated Harley behind. There was another devastating thing that happened to Harley that night after Tyson walked out, that just made things even worse.. But I don't want to say what, for fear of giving away the best part of the story.
Now five years later; Tyson comes back to town after realizing he'd made a big mistake all those years ago. He wants Harley back, but is it too late?
I liked this story, although, I thought that Harley forgave Tyson way too easily most of the time. All of the characters, both main and secondary.... were hilarious and playful, which was good because it really helped to offset the dark and painful tone this story had at times. Harley is a tough character and I had no trouble connecting to her. I really and truly wanted to hate Tyson for treating Harley so badly that night, but I just couldn't. Harley wasn't all alone all that time though, she had an amazing support team in Levi and Quinn, her two best friends. They were there with her through thick and thin. The interaction between these three was hilarious at times. Levi knew just how to lift her spirits in a heart-beat, and Quinn...she was so outrageous.... you can't help but laugh at her wild antic's.. Max was so sweet. He was also a very precarious child, too, one who is sure to keep you on your toes at all times!
I can't wait to read more about Quinn and Levi. Levi just disappears half way through the book and I was really intrigued by his character, so I'm hoping to find out more soon. I would definitely recommend this book!
Tyson makes a lot of horrible choices but he redeemed himself for me. Harley is a very strong woman to have come thru what she did and still be able to be such an amazing person,
The predictable and sometimes annoying parts for me is the lack of communication between the characters. I find that a lot in books like this one, although it happens in real life, that if the characters just talked more openly every issue could be solved immediately. Of course it would make the book boring and who doesn't want the angst. I just feel the miscommunication should be more justified and not such silly stuff.
The chemistry is strong and the sex is not erotic but does give some good detail to help melt your panties.
