Your so called best friend tells you they are in love with you and you turn your back and cut off all contact for 5 years? When you come back she forgives you immediately and still continues to give you chances while you act like a douche every time.
I couldn't like or enjoy this book due to main H being a total idiot who doesn't deserve the h. Biggest mistake this book made was not letting Harley (h) ride off into the sunset with Levi. Skimmed from about 60% in.
After the prologue you are aware that she had been raped by someone she knows.
Fast forward 5 years and you see that she had a kid. So now you know that she became pregnant after being raped by someone she knows.
Enter the best friend who left her 5 years ago who wants to immediately be in a relationship despite the fact that he blew her off that horrible night and hasnt spoken to her in 5 years
So now the big predictable problem: when is she going to let him know she was raped and that she had a son as a result of the rape
And even after all of the clues of how much the boy looks like the best friends brother - he still doesn't get it,
So then we have to have the final predictable moment where he finds out it was his brother who raped her songs that the boy is his nephew.
In between that there are jealous fits and awkward conversation.
With the sensitive topic in this book i thought that maybe it would tug on the heart strings a little, that i would feel some sort of connection to the characters - nope.
This story really touched me. It takes place in the area I grew up in so it totally caught my eye. But the heart breaking emotion that is in this book keeps you going and wanting more and more. I laughed and cried (ALOT), but in the end K.L. puts your heart back together again! Fantastic book!!!
Sometimes when you're reading a debut novel, it's either hit or miss. Well, let me tell you, Where We Belong is definitely a hit!! I'm still surprised that this is K.L. Grayson's first book.
Where We Belong had me hooked from the beginning. I thought to myself, "Oh my god! This book is going to break me". There was so much angst and heartbreak, just in the prologue. And if you know me, you know I'm a big fan of well written angst. I knew from that moment that I wasn't going to be able to put this book down.
Where We Belong follows the story of Harley and Ty, best friends since babies. Somewhere along the way, Harley developed more than friendly feelings for Ty and finally gets up the courage to tell him. Unfortunately, Ty did not react the way that Harley was hoping for. He walks away and never looks back. Harley is destroyed and seeks comfort from a familiar face. What happens next will change Harley's life forever. Now 5 years later, Ty has come home and wants to make up for his mistakes. But 5 years with no word, is a long time. Will Harley be able to forgive Ty for walking out on her and their friendship? Will Harley and Ty finally have their chance at something more????
Where We Belong is a wonderful story of forgiveness, hope and second chances. This story did deal with some very tough issues and I felt that the author handled them very well. The characters were very likable and so easy to connect with. I admired Harley's strength and how she overcame a very dark period in her life. And Ty.....I loved watching him fight for his second chance with Harley. Their chemistry was undeniable.Read more ›

I thought the storyline was good. Certain parts were predictable, but there was enough romance there to hold my interest and I was rooting for their happily ever after.Published 1 month ago by Lambie

The story really did start off well but then spiralled down about 25% in. Harley goes through something awful and Levi helps her through. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Podlet2816
I could see the angst that the author was aiming for, I just couldn't connect with it. The organization of thought, the drama, the back and forth, felt contrived. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Lynn R.
