The ending was incredibly weak. The conclusion of the suspense portion brings to the story to a head with a bit of anticipation and then afterwards, it's like a balloon completely deflated because the epilogue was not sufficient to explain out the last chapter before, it came off as if it were a passing circumstance instead of a tragic and life changing event. After all the build up between Jack and Lu's relationship, it ends on a rather flat and anticlimactic note and there's just so many other ways that the writing could've supported the story better so the characters had a more satisfying ending. And I don't mean an ending that I would've liked better or a different ending, because ultimately it was fine, but seemed rather abrupt and rushed. I mean an ending that was more elaborated to make it worthy for what the characters went through and to understand how the experience shaped them. Instead, I was left scratching my head wondering what was the relevance of that and what it did to deliver some kind of profound life message, because I completely missed the memo and the necessity of why Lu and Jack had to go through that.
Have you ever read a book that you were so engrossed in that you couldn’t put it down for the life of you? (Of course you have)
Have you ever read a book that’s so over the top enthralling just as much as it is enticing? (I would hope you have)
But a better question?
Have you ever read a DEBUT novel that has all of those elements and more?
Because if you haven’t, you need this book in your life. H***, if you HAVE, you STILL need this book in your life.
I’ll never be able to get over the fact that this is the author’s first written book. The writing style was phenomenal, the characters were just PERFECT, but the story...
The story is where it’s at with this one!
Goodness, this is the book that has you on your toes 100% of the time. It makes you FEEL, it makes you SHAKE, it makes you ANXIOUS page after page, and it also give you LIFE!
Where You Can Find Me leaves you guessing. This romantic suspense is just that in every sense of the genre. Even if you were to think you’ve figured everything out, it still leaves you guessing while still pulling you in. That is a 100% guarantee.
This book is steamy, comical, swoon worthy, and overall, this book is riveting to say the absolute least.
READ. THIS. BOOK!
So, Goodreads is asking me what I think. I'm writing it here first, so I can get my thoughts out. The issue is, I'm sitting here staring at this question wondering how I can clearly convey what I think. I'm blown away. I'm surprised. I'm .. just. . wow..
I had to click on this authors work to see how many other books she's written. I mean you can't write a psychological thriller like that, wait is it even considered a psychological thriller? okay, thriller .. like that, right our the gate, right? So I see she's got three books to her name, and no I don't know which is first. But still, three books - that's it?!? And this is written that well? You know who would like this book? People who like James Patterson. Especially the detective series'. That is what popped in my head when I finished... she writes like JP. I don't know if that's a compliment to this author, but it's surely meant as one.
I was on the edge of my pillow trying to figure out who the serial killer was for so long. Then when it hit me, I was like wow. The killer was right in all the notes he left.
This book was a fantastic combination of romance and thriller. I feel like those two genres were very nicely intertwined with the way the story played out. Enough of the romance to get you hot, then some murder to cool you down. And back and forth we go.
I am very much surprised, in a good way with this book. From the storyline, to the delivery, to the writing style, it doesn't feel like a new author. Its so well written. And the sex is hella hot!
I'm glad I've found this new author. If you are looking for a twist, you'll want to pick this bad boy up.
