Where to get a version without the mastering defect?

I ordered the 2-disk Wicked Symphony/Angel Of Babylon set a while back, and got the version that has a mastering defect on the Angel of Babylon disk. It will play the first few seconds of 3 songs on the disk twice. The songs are complete, but having those extra seconds play during a playthrough is incredibly annoying.

I checked with one of the sellers here that lists a new Angel of Babylon CD, and he states that the one he is selling does have the defect.

From my research, I gather that the (possibly) Mexican (or South American maybe--there's Spanish on the stickers anyway) pressing has the defect, while the Euro pressing does not. Both pressings appear to share the same ASIN number.

Can anyone tell me where I can order the non-defective Euro version from? I'd be interested in just the Angel of Babylon disk at this point, as I already have the Wicked Symphony purchased separately, which plays fine. Thanks!

Okay, I just received in the mail the official Nuclear Blast USA version (my first one was manufactured in South America or something) from this page right here on Amazon, directly from Amazon this time. I was hoping that Nuclear Blast had it mastered right this time, but they do not. While the repeating openings of tracks 2, 8, and 9 (which are actually tacked on the ends of tracks 1, 7 and 8) have been slightly shortened, the repetition is still there! The fact that someone did try and improve it only makes the fact that they failed that much more puzzling. C'mon! Could it really be that difficult? I'm getting tired of throwing my money down the toilet trying to get a good release. I spent extra money so I could listen to uncompressed CD versions of this album. Now I'm wishing I'd just gone with the mp3s.

Thanks for the update. The version I got was the Mexico pressing, which had the defect and had been hoping there was a solution. The closest I came was ripping the CD to iTunes at 320 kbps, and then setting those particular tracks to stop five seconds before the end. So, at least when I listen to it on my iPod, I can hear the album as it was intended. For what it's worth, if it makes you feel any better, the mp3 versions will have the same problem. If you stream the album on Rhapsody, you'll hear it, and the mp3s are provided to all distributors from the same source. I found that out the hard way when a digital album I purchased on Walmart.com had one glitchy track. I tried purchasing it from several other digital retailers (Amazon, iTunes, Rhapsody, Best Buy), and they all had the same problem.

Thanks Brian. I was beginning to think I was the only one who noticed. I'm a big Avantasia fan, so this has been monumentally frustrating.
Also frustrating is that I can find absolutely no mention of this defect anywhere on the internet, including the Avantasia/Edguy website.
Well maybe someday, I can afford to spring the $50 for the Euro or Japan pressing...

I really hate that the Amazon MP3 version had the defect. I might have to order the album myself and chop off the defective parts.
