Others have complained about the blade literally breaking. I can’t comment on the quality of the steel as I haven’t had the knife long enough. Though, quite frankly this is just an attractive wood handled knife to add to the collection for a few dollars. If you really need a reliable and durable knife for under $10 there are better options even at this low price point.
The bottom line is I would recommend this knife is you want an attractive little knife to put in a case, or throw in a tackle box. This is a good buy for the money. If you need more function from your knife, look at comparably priced knives from Camillus, Mora, or Cold Steel. Each of these knives cost $5 to $7 dollars more, and perform at a much higher level when it comes to durability and cutting ability.
To sum up:
Attractive handle and embossing
Sharp out of the box
Small handle makes for a poor grip
Handle is very smooth; further compromising the grip
Questionable steel quality
when I took it out of the box I said wow! It's heavy due to the full tang and feels (and looks!)like it's going to serve it's purpose well! I give this five stars.
I recently bought a spring assisted knife from Whetstone Cutlery and was a little unhappy with it (you can read it in my review it's titled "got it for free") but this certainly makes up for it.
Now i know why its so cheap! the steel is absolutely terrible! the tip of the knife completely snapped of the blade!
put up a few more dollars and get real steel.
Don't be fooled at first like i was......
