Even if your loved one does not have "early onset" of the disease, you will certainly identify with the trials, struggles, and emotions of all concerned. It literally touches upon all aspects of memory loss from driving, to sleeping, to restlessness, and includes some words of wisdom mostly from the group he formed, "Memory People" as well as others found on various books and web sites.
If you are a caregiver, if for no other reason, this book with help you cope. It is not medical, nor profound, it is simply a good solid work of literature on the sacrifices, bravery, and patience required both of patients and caregivers alike. You will take solace in this journey; it is germaine to everyone and anyone facing this illness, Highly recommended!
The only problem with the digital Kindle book that I bought on Amazon is that is missing chapter 46 so if I were you I would try to make sure and ask Amazon if the issue has been fixed before buying it for Kindle. I will contact Amazon and ask them if I can get a new copy once the problem has been taken care of.
UPDATE - January 7, 2015
So I was able to contact Leanne Chames, Personal Assistant to author Rick Phelps, through their Memory People Facebook group. She basically told me that the digital chapters are all there. The problem is that when Amazon created the digital version of the book it messed up the numbering of the chapters. Actually chapter 47 is chapter 46, chapter 48 is chapter 47, and so on. That explains why the digital book has 72 chapters (with one supposedly missing) and the print version of the book has 71 with none missing. Both books have only 71 chapters and they are complete, the problem is that the digital version has a numbering error after chapter 45.
The book is great and deserves to be available for Kindle, so once Amazon fixes the issue and puts it back on sale don't hesitate to buy it.
