Brent was beautiful and popular, building a career for himself when he was brutally attacked and scarred. He's started over as a photographer, building a new business and life for himself. He still has issues, concern about how others see his facial scar, and some fear being near the area the attack occurred. He also seems lonely. Tristan enters his life as a model for a photography project he's working on. With some work, Tristan opens Brent up to love and acceptance of what he has, and what really matters in life. Oh yeah, there's hot sex, and a fun photography session!
Loved Brent and Tristan, and loved seeing Dan and Gene!
What a fantastic story....
This is an adorable, sometimes funny, often heart-tugging novella which you will love. It's not necessary to read the rest of the books in the series because they are all basically standalones but take place in the same town and have ties to the gym everyone goes to. Enjoy it, and bring some cherries.
This wonderful read of Mr. Grey’s again struck the right cord. Passion, real insecurities, and imperfect characters that manage to bring to life a story that you want to read over and over.
Brent Phillips is a former model that after a gay bashing incident has turned photographer. Portraits pay the rent as he tries to get an exhibition together for a show he has been accepted in. He does nude males, tried to catch his models in action, motion driving the pieces. He is a week away from his show but doesn’t have a center piece to pull the whole thing together. Then he goes to the gym with Dan and Gene one day and meets the perfect model. Tristan is a college student that is willing to listen.
While working with Tristan, Brent allows himself to start to feel again, feel handsome, feel worthy, to feel love. He had been attacked the year before and left with a scar on his face that had deeply affected his self image. Tristan had suffered abuse from his parents mentally, but had learned to move on with his sister’s help. Can these two build a life together? Can they get over their insecurities and make a life together? What will happen with Brent’s exhibition now that he has his center piece?
This is a tale that caught me from the first word and didn’t let me go. Like many of Mr. Grey’s books I started it before bed and ended up reading long past when I should have turned out the light to finish the book. This is a five star read, a must for people who love Mr. Grey’s work. I was surprised to read this and discover some old friends, Dan and Gene from the Gym series make a show with another old friend, just adding to this already great story.
Brent Phillips is a photographer who spends most of his time taking student portraits while trying to build up his art portfolio. A former model, he now has scars, both physical and psychological, after being brutally attacked. He's looking for something unique to become the center of his upcoming exhibit, and he finds it when he meets Tristan Greer. Tristan is a very sexy college student who was kicked out of his home when his parents found out he was gay. Brent needs to get past his own personal demons to believe that Tristan is capable of loving him.
Told from Brent's point of view, it's obvious the attack he suffered from has caused a lot of damage on both the inside and outside. Fortunately, he's surrounded by several people who care about him very much. I really enjoyed meeting Brent's friends and watching them take care of him. Brent was a nice guy with a quirky personality. Tristan was a sweetheart and very mature and supportive, but I would have liked to have gotten to know him better. Most of the story is focused on Brent's photography studio and his upcoming art exhibition. His plan is to have Tristan pose covered only in whipped cream. Fortunately, this picture can be seen on the lovely book cover. It was fun to watch the two of them spend time together and grow their relationship.
If you enjoy art and photography, this was a really interesting and enjoyable look into that arena with a sweet and loving romance to flow around it.

Great story-lines. It is sad people are so mean to those they don't understand (fear of the unknown).Love still runs deeper. Thanks be to God.
