I have no complaints at all about this product. My fridge leaked and did some damage. It's too bad the part that went bad was only $50 but the damage it caused was many times more than that. It damaged drywall, flooring, etc. This replacement part was new and works great.

I may just replace this part every 5 years (if I remember LOL) as preventative maintenance, because when it fails it really sucks!

FYI.....THIS WILL HELP .... TO REMOVE YOUR WATER LINES from your old Water Valve.... you must PUSH DOWN on the locking mechanism AND THEN PULL UP on the water line (my natural tendency was to try to pull up on the locking collar). I also tried the "push the line down and pull up again" as another reviewer suggested, too no avail. Most others said, "Just cut your lines and reinsert them in the new valve."

Knowing that cutting would make my lines too short, I figured I would break apart the valve with "channel locks" to free my lines. But upon further searching, I FINALLY FOUND this solution and I was surprised how easily they released.

This is a great product and the packaging leads me to believe that it is also a genuine part, not an aftermarket brand.

Mine broke as a result of moving the fridge in freezing cold weather, should of listened to mom warning me of that. But I thought "Nah, won't happen, cause I'll be quick." So $50 later, I can unfortunately say, "Once again, mom knew best!"

Researched several sites for this part for our Maytag side-by-side before finally settling on this one from Amazon. Had to watch a couple of vids online to make sure I was putting it in properly, because my fridge bracket was a little tricky. Went on in less than 10 minutes and have had no trouble in the 90 days its been on.

I purchased a used Maytag refrigerator with an ice and water dispenser on the door, which was having an issue with the volume of water that was flowing when the ice maker refilled and when filling a glass of water. I suspected that the valve might be the problem, and purchased this Whirlpool replacement. It was an easy job to remove the old one and install this new one. There are many good videos on YouTube that show the procedure. I did the entire install in about 30-45 minutes. The valve works perfectly

* Note about refrigerators with ice and water on the door, and water filters — It turns out in my case that the valve was not the problem. The problem with the volume of water was actually the internal water filter in this model of Maytag. Even though I replaced the filter prior to replacing the valve, and I have plenty of water pressure, the filter reduces the flow of water to a trickle, rendering ice cubes to mere shells of their former selves and resulting in glass fill times well into double digits. I solved the problem by purchasing a bypass cap and taking the internal filter out of the equation. I then installed a 12-month filter external to the refrigerator. I bought an in-line filter, cut the water supply line, installed it using the friction fittings and secured it to the back panel. Excellent tasting water and ice cubes with no more hollow ice shells and no waiting.

Worked perfect. TOok me 15 minutes to replace. After turning the water back on, I did have to pull out the filter bypass and put it back to let some air or something out, but once I did that it worked great. When I was shopping around, I was told the part couldn't be legit OEM, because it was too cheap (they quoted $85) but it was completely identical to the original. I'm happy and would purchase again.

Had an semi-new (around 5 years old) Maytag refrigerator spring a leak and this part was the cause. I just hope this one does not leak. Over 4K in water damage from the last one. Installation was pretty straight forward not special tools needed.

The refrigarator was leaking from the valve and we ordered the part and replaced it. You have to cut the old connection and connect this one. You can't just pull the water hoses and insert into the new part, you have to cut them up.

UPDATE:After 2 weeks of use I was going to send it back for replacement but before I did that, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it again, Now it works perfect. 5 stars...

I replaced this water valve in my fridge. The previous one worked and pushed water very forcefully but it was leaking and that's why i replaced it. This replacement fit very good and it looks identical to the original but it pushes the water very slowly. You will grow gray hair waiting for your glass to fill with water. NOT happy with it.
