When I found out Francisco was writing a story featuring the sexy bartender from Southern, I was like HELLS YES!
Beth is stubborn with a capital "S." She is also smart, beautiful and independent, which makes the witty back and forth between her and flirty, confident Jake so DAMN amusing. I don't know how many times I laughed out loud.
Completely engrossed from page one, Beth and Jake's friends to lovers story expertly ties in humor with tender and steamy moments. Pass me the bourbon, and let's get it on!
Not only that, but the secondary characters come to life as a beautiful supporting cast to the story NOT just as "filler" or "background." The friendship and family relationships are important to the character's journey.
Whiskey Nights at its core is a real life romance with real life challenges. For readers who want to experience an emotional read with relatable circumstance, this story was constructed for you.
It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Sweet on Wilde. I love that book! So when Ms. Francisco announced that she was writing Jake and Beth's story, I was ecstatic.
To me, Whiskey Nights is kind of like Sweet on Wilde with a twist. It's got the same sweet and sassy Southern flair, but Beth is a lot more stubborn and the overall mood is a little more sexy.
Ok, maybe a lot more sexy because some of those scenes were pretty hot and the chemistry between Jake and Beth was a constant sizzle.
One of my favorite things about Ms. Francisco's writing is that she writes real characters. Ones that I could see myself hanging out with. I can totally relate to the emotions that they're feeling and why and I know that I would react to certain situations in the same way that Beth or Jake did. I also believe that in writing these characters this way, it's subconsciously gives you hope. Hope that your Prince Charming is out there. Hope that things will work out. Hope. The one thing we should never lose.
So thank you, Ms. Francisco. Not just for writing another story that I loved, but for restoring my hope. In love, in life, in everything.
Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Read and reviewed by SPie for Alpha Book Club.
Whiskey Nights is no exception with both loving and funny moments woven together in Jake and Beth's story.
There are times when I laughed out loud (condom scene) and other times where I said, "Oh, I so remember feeling that way."
This series is so three-dimensional, the conversation and characters come alive off the pages.
And the ending - well you have to get there to love it.

I've been looking forward to reading Beth's story after being introduced to her character from 'Sweet on Wilde'.
Jake is the hottest bar tender in town and guess who he wants in his bed. Yep he wants the gorgeous Beth.
In the beginning Beth thinks Jake is just messing around but it soon becomes clear that he actually does want to take her out on a real date.
It's always fun in the beginning. Beth and Jake have so much fun together.
They are a match made in heaven or so I thought. Sadly the first disagreement which turns into a fight leaves them going their separate ways.
They are both completely miserable. Beth can't even get out of bed as she's so heart broken. The bakery is left to Lacy to run while she mourns her loss.
Beth knows she needs to snap out of it, she has responsibilities but if you've ever had your heart broken you'll know it's painful. That sickly feeling in the pit of your stomach. Losing your appetite, feeling like there's no hope. It's a sad time and everyone around you wants to make you feel better but nothing works.
Only time will mend Beth's heart. She will always love Jake but time will make it easier.
Poor Jake looks how Beth feels. God it's just awful.
I know what your thinking. Well if they both love each other so much why are they not together. Well it's simple one of them wants something that the other doesn't.
I need a whiskey. I don't drink it to be honest but Beth loves it.
This book was so close to real life. Anyone can connect with this story. I loved it. It's has laugh out loud moments and feelings of sadness. The sex is off the charts HOT!
It's an all round brilliant read.
