Whisper Cape is the first book in the series and introduces us to Cael and Addie. I fell completely in love with Cael and his yumminess. I love the chemistry between him and Addie.
Reflections gives us a closer look into Maia and Jerry's life. Secrets are revealed and their love is put to the test.
A Secret Fate is the conclusion to the series and ties up all the lose ends. I found myself so anxious throughout this book and crossing my fingers that Cael would be okay and find his way back to Addie. You will have to read to find out.
The Whisper Cape Trilogy is so astonishing with characters that are lovable and well developed. I can't brag enough about author Susan Griscom. This series grabbed my attention from the moment I started it and I just couldn't put it down. If you are a fan of paranormal romance, you have to read this series!
I couldn't put it down!
In my honest opinion, this was one of the best new Urban Fantasy books I had read in that year, and I was doing A LOT of reading for review. I don't know if it just caught me in the right mood for this type of read or what (since I'm seeing a bit of mixed feelings from reviewers), but I personally thought it was fantastic and immediately recommended it to all 1,700+ of my Literal Addicts. :)
The premise is fresh, the characters relatable, the plot intense, the romance steamy... what more could you want?
Cael, the hunky hero of our story (and yes, I'm not afraid to admit I have a serious reader crush on Cael!), returns to Whisper Cape on a job for the secret society he's employed to. Upon his arrival, he runs into our fiesty heroine Addie and nothing is ever the same.
Addie has just returned to Whisper Cape after losing her father, and is living out a comfortable yet slightly boring life with her aunt and pseudo-uncle (her aunt's live-in boyfriend).
The dynamics between Cael and Addie throughout the story will have you laughing, on the verge of tears, frustrated, elated, and a plethora of other emotions in-between.
The plot is intense, mysterious, dark where it needs to be, light in others and thoroughly engrossing.
Believe me, if you're a paranormal suspense lover like I am and think you are the best at figuring out 'whodoneit'... you're probably going to be wrong in this one. I thought I had it figured out at least twice and upon completion of the book, still went "huh". :)
I loved Whisper Cape, and was very excited to see where Susan took us in book #2. It definitely lived up to my expectations. Reflections was another fabulous installment in the Whisper Cape series - suspenseful, romantic, full of heart, and that ending... It couldn't have left me wanting the next book more than it did.
Where Whisper Cape introduced us to Cael, Addie and the world of the extraordinary, Reflections concentrates on Maia (Addie's aunt) Gerry (Maia's man), and their upcoming bundle of joy. The storyline is intense, surprising, and filled with emotion. There were a lot of real world insecurities explored in this book and it somehow made it feel more 'real' even in the wonderful magical world that Susan has created for the Whisper Cape series.
LITERAL ADDICTION gives Reflections 4 1/2 Skulls and would recommend it to Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance readers far and wide. I'm eagerly anticipating the next installment of the series!
A SECRET FATE:
Oh, it's so bittersweet... I have been following Addie and Cael's tale since day one when Susan reached out to me (as Regan) and asked if I'd be interested in reading Whisper Cape. At that time, it was one of the best books I had read and I instantly developed a serious book boyfriend crush on Cael. That didn't change through the utter enjoyment of Reflections, and now that the series has come to a conclusion, I don't know if I want to laugh at the amazing ride, or cry because it's over.
A Secret Fate is another highly emotional read. Picking up after the intense conclusion of Reflections, we get to follow Addie and Cael through separate stories initially while they're separated, sharing in Addie's grief and heartbreak and the developing relationship between she and Aiden, and joining Cael for some fun in the sun while he struggles with his missing memory.
When their paths finally overlap again, it's...intense. There are some serious secrets being kept, a bit of jealousy over a love triangle that really isn't a love triangle, a super sweet (and yes, erotic!) romance as Cael and Addie relearn each other, and a highly action packed sub-story with unusual outcomes.
I really enjoyed the ride, and if you're a WHISPER CAPE series follower, you most certainly have to read this to wrap things up.
All of the stories in this series are fast paced reads with a lot of depth. I fell in love with all of the characters, and the heroes are all swoon-worthy!
I recommend this book to anyone looking for a hot, paranormal read with lots of romance and mystery!
