I like the atmosphere of the books as well as the characters' eccentric history. You have moments like friends gathering flowers in a cemetery, a supremely selfish widow in a hit and run, and a general focus on archaeology as a source of supernatural events. Plus, I give props to any author who willingly names a character Bootsy.
The characters are enjoyable, the atmosphere weird, and this book is every bit as enjoyable as the first. You won't regret picking it up if you like Goosebumps or similar tales. I'm a fan of Briar Lee Mitchell's adult novels as well and recommend them to readers who want more mature horror stories.
Rain, mud, and earthly slime lurk into the wee hours of the moon while the paranormal haunts the finders keepers. Historical references in ancient artifacts that give power to symbols while the curious teenagers defy rules and discover the beast of years past. An exciting plot and has every ingredient to be made into an animated film.
Having read the first WHISTLEBRASS book, I couldn't wait to continue with the story and the characters. And it did not disappoint!
A wonderful fascinating read!
Pearl is an amazing character (I kinda wish I could see spirits).
A little bit of learning about search and rescue,
I enjoyed Kestral, the doubter.
It was a marvelous second sequel. Hope there will be more!!!
AND I need to know where the cat is....
