Review

Devi Nair, @Devinair_Reviews - Anyone who is familiar with Bella Andre series would know how much fun and interesting it is to read the love stories of all the siblings in a family. When the family is huge with a lot of siblings, the stories become even more fun. And that is exactly what Maggie Adams has brought into her books. Whistlin' Dixie is the first in the series of love stories of siblings. Each story will describe how each of the sibling found love in their lives. As the series proceeds, we might also come across how the "Happily ever after" story from the previous versions of the series are happening.
There are four brothers in Coalsen family and this story is about the eldest one, Mackenzie Coalsen aka Mac and how he finds love in the fiery Dixie. Although a bit typical, the story is fun to read and interesting to go about. A brief background is also given about all the other brothers so that we can anticipate in our own minds how the next part of the series is going to be.
Although I was not very optimistic about how the book would be before taking it, now I will definitely go for the next part of the series. I am super curious as to how the love story of Mac and Dixie goes ahead and who finds their next love among the other siblings.

About the Author

Hi! I'm Maggie Adams. I live near St. Louis, MO, with my high school sweetheart, Ned, and my wonderful kids, Katie (Kyle) and Ross (Valerie). My life is like a walking, talking sitcom from I Love Lucy, but I love it, although people do tend to keep their distance from me! Writing has always been my dream, with reading my favorite hobby. When I’m not writing, I can be found singing, dancing, and cooking, often all at the same time. I try to include a little bit of my life in everything I write, so when you read my books, keep your eyes wide open - I'm in there somewhere! Happy reading! This was a fast paced, sweet story that had decent character development. However, there were way too many grammar issues. Things that you couldn't write off as typos! If the author would just read her own book before posting it, many could be corrected before it goes public.
The last straw was to get to the end and find the big mystery was not solved! I'm interested in knowing who-done-it, but not enough to buy the next book and suffer through bad editing. Who knows, there is no guarantee that there will be a satisfactory ending then anyway.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Mac Coalson is trying to rebuild his hometown after the flood. Someone is vandalizing the homes he is rebuilding and he is determined to get to the bottom of it. After the sheriff catches some teenagers trespassing on the property he wants to press charges even though they weren't actually caught doing anything. Dixie Harris was irate after being called to the station to get her brother Jamie. She has no problem standing up to Mac. Mac isn't sued to any standing up to him, especially a little blonde women with a mouth on her.

I have to say I loved Dixie, she was feisty, and had one heck of a vocabulary when she got going. The sparks between her and Mac just jumped off the page and they were a match made in heaven. Between them fighting and trying to find out who is behind the vandalism keeps you turning pages. Just wondering what is going to come out of Dixie's mouth next. Lots of sexual tension and warm and sweet moments. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

I thoroughly enjoyed Whistlin' Dixie! Maggie Adams pulls you in from the first chapter as Mac and the spitfire Dixie first meet and their attraction is undeniable. Both Mac and Dixie's points of view were masterfully woven into the story and made you feel all of their thoughts and emotions. Mac and Dixie's love story had humor, hot romance and mystery all wonderfully written into one heart-warming story. I look forward to reading more about the sexy Coalson brothers!

Awesome Book! I absolutely loved it! Great story with hilarious scenes, racy romance, and an all around happy story. The loveable main characters are the short, sassy, and sexy Dixie, and the Tall, Handsome, and out on a mission, stary out of my way Mac. Cannot wait for book two and to read more about these awesome brothers!

I had this title in my kindle for a few weeks before I finally got around to reading it. Right from the start I knew I would like Mac he's the right mix of tough no nonsense alpha male with family loyalty that comes in spades. I liked the fact that Dixie was younger and had the strength to care for her half grown teenaged brother when she herself was barely out of her own teens. Their story unraveled with support from a strong family and a close if not gossipy and meddlesome small town community. The added mystery of this vandal who is reeking havoc kept me intrigued enough but I'm happy it didn't detract from the love story. I already have leather and lace can't wait to dive into it.

Oh yeah! I have found another new, talented Indie author who writes great romantic suspense! I even read this 1st book out of order, after book #2, so they each stand alone :) I love the storyline, the crazy romance & the frustrating suspense; the love of family connection plus the humorous laugh out loud moments, throughout :) The characters are likable & real to life (especially in a southern way, y'all, which I really enjoyed ;) I was totally engaged from the beginning to the end, not wanting to put it down when I had to :o lol ... I honestly loved this book (and book #2, Leather & Lace) and will one-click any book by this amazing author :) I can't wait for the next Coalson brother story!! ... So add this to your must read list, or one-click right now :)
