The White Buffalo Paperback – September 13, 2012
|New from||Used from|
Actual events surrounding the birth of a white buffalo calf inspired this amusing book about a fictional white buffalo born at a Texas cutting horse facility. The owners manage to turn the media frenzy and tourist stampede to their advantage in training the horses, and the story culminates in a happy ending.
If the real-life owners of the white buffalo are suffering as these fictional characters did, readers will feel very sorry for them. The book hints that there is literally no limit to the ignorance of certain members of the human race and the annoyance they can inflict upon the rest of us.
Hope, the calf in this tale, brings inspiration to many of the characters. She inspires greed in some people, and awe and amazement in others.
This is a good story about training competitive cutting horses, even if the only buffaloes you are interested in appear on nickels and dinner plates. You will enjoy the Coopers, their horses and their life. -- Reviewed by Pat Ingram, Quarter Horse Journal, July 1995 --This text refers to the Kindle Edition edition.
