I generally love anything Korean. Food, movies, K-Pop, even been to South Korea a few times which was amazing. When I heard about this game and that it's by a Korean developer, I had to get it. One of the worst decisions I ever made. I'm normally not the type to quit on a game, I always see it through to the end, but this one I stopped about five hours in. The story was not interesting, characters didn't have enough quirks or charisma to be endearing, and the janitor character was way too OP. Plus there were segments where if you died, you could lose a ton of progress depending on where the last checkpoint was or when you last saved (limited saves in this game by the way, old school RE style with items). Furthermore, I love getting all endings in a game. I read you have to finish this game about 20 times, some of which will be on insanely high difficulty levels, to get them. No thanks. If you love extremely challenging games, then you will appreciate this more than I did.

I really wanted to like this game and give it a chance, but this was extremely frustrating to play and I found myself not the least bit scared. All the monsters are incredibly campy and silly. It's not scary to see the same jump scare replayed over and over again for no purpose but to be a jump scare or to hear the immortal janitor go "MUAHAHA."
1. NOT SCARY. It's just jump scares and literally nothing scared me even the tiniest bit. Some of the jump scares startled me. The first time I saw them. Most of the sound effects just sound like stock effects- maybe all of them. The ghost jump scares are also repeated ad infinitum until they just become goofy. Hearing a deafening "DIIIIIING" noise followed by a screen explaining the gameplay makes it tough to get immersed. Oh, look, here's something that might be scar... DIIIIIIIIIING! BY THE WAY, PLAYER, THIS IS A GHOST! HOPE YOU DON'T MIND ME PAUSING THE GAME TO VERY VERY LOUDLY TELL YOU THAT?
2. Atrocious voice/cutscene design. All the characters have to awkwardly pause and change position when you choose a voice answer, and at most it changes one line of dialog and probably not even that, and it is painfully obvious where the dialog affected by your response ends and the cutscene continues. And sometimes voices will just cut off.
3. Not an interesting story, not scary. All the screams/cries/jump scare sound effects sound so fake and stock. When the janitor guy chances you, he makes a hilariously campy "MUAHAHAHA" sound effect.
4. Hard in a completely bs way. You have to hide from this janitor you can't do anything about, and good luck with that because it's completely rng whether or not he'll be blocking you from accessing an area you need to get to and you may just need to die and hope rng is on your side next time. Sometimes, he doesn't LEAVE when he's hanging around the area that's crucial to your progress. You can't even chase him away, once you hide and leave he's RIGHT BACK THERE BLOCKING YOU. And sometimes he will just show up randomly where you are and welp, you're dead. Also, there's a puzzle that only people who understand kanji can possibly solve.
5. Buggy, once the game just decided to stop showing the cursor to let me enter a door that i needed to get into and the only way to fix it was to quit, lose my progress, and try again.

If you're looking for something scary to play for a few nights then definitely pick this game up. However, even normal difficulty is very difficult, as the janitor will chase you relentlessly, causing long breaks in story because you're just busy hiding in a bathroom stall all the time. Also, you have to replay the game like 40 times if you want all the endings. This version comes with an additional story after you beat your first playthrough, which you can see about halfway through the game if you choose the right dialogue choices.

I could have bought this game on PSN a month prior but whatever. This game, so far, is pretty good for atmosphere and some jump scares. You can have Korean or english voice acting. This is an upscale of an older game that came out in 2001. The graphics are decent but not really fantastic. The story is the winner here not the graphics.

I like to think of myself as a horror aficionado. This game does have super creepy ghoolies and is RICH with puzzles. Some of the puzzles are a bit convoluted in my opinion. If you just want a spooky game and not something that makes you think a lot..this isn't for you. The Janitors are mad men and will beat you to death.
This game has several endings and several difficulties. It is a run and hide horror game not unlike outlast. It's not as scary as outlast. There are a lot of repetitive jump scare tactics that grow old pretty fast. It's fun to play for a little bit doesn't rank very highly for me in the horror. All said decent puzzle game, just not as scary as it's made out to be.

Un port a consola regular, pero entretenido.
Reviewed in Mexico on May 20, 2018Verified Purchase

Great game

Never played the original when it came out but I'm loving this game. And being a fan of horror this game is great for a different take on the usual north American horror genre. It has this eerie old school vibe and reminded me a lot of those games from that era (which it's from) also has a fatal frame vibe. Overall love the game and there is also dlc too for costumes which gives it that little extra replay value. Highly recommend to horror buffs.

i was really curious about this game and i'm glad i purchased it.
the music and sounds in general are amazing and makes the game spooky and immersive. the ghost stories and intriguing and fun to read.
If you like to read while you play this game is perfect because you need to read to progress in the game (you also need to solve puzzles, that sometimes requires you to read specific notes OR ghost stories)
the only down side to this game (and many people said it as well) is that the janitors is a real pain to get rid of and unless you play in very easy. they can hear you very easily and it makes the game super hard and sometimes it breaks the immersion.

New door combination different every time!
Reviewed in Canada on December 1, 2017Verified Purchase
Great game if you are into the horror type games but understand the biggest thing i did not like was the AI was really dumb at times and you can make a path so you can run by the janitor every time without getting hit and that takes alot from the game that being said i still feel like it has alot more pros then cons so i will keep it at 5 for that reason.
one of the best things on the other hand was you need to follow a process to get a code for the door and the code is always randomly generated every time and you need to find the code 1st to open the door but if you die then you need to do it all over again with a new code!.
