Editorial Reviews

Review

"Whether he is addressing his departed friend(s) . . . or the great swell of the Pacific Ocean that haunts his dreams, the voice is always the same, modest and direct. This is a humble poetry of great truths and profound emotions . . ." ---Philip Levine, writing in Ploughshares

"These are poems of immortality and extinction that can still make you smile . . .[Buckley] has an exquisite ear for language and a gutsy way of blending bravado with humility." ---Library Journal

Buckley manages both a rich and easy density of image and the quiet stillness of the best poetry . . . his work will vivify you, lift you beyond yourself--as the best art does. - --Lin Rolens, Santa Barbara News Press

The reader should be warned that this is a book of poetry. While I admire Christopher Buckley hugely, I am not a huge fan of poetry and could not force myself to finish the book.
