After reading through about a dozen different reviews, I still wasn't sure what size to order. I'm a size 16 in pants and usually a size extra large top, which usually equates to a size extra large pants. I still was unsure though, so I ordered two pairs: one size extra large, one sized 1X.
The extra large I couldn't even get on, which I was glad I had also ordered a size up in the 1X, thinking they would work.
I could get them on, and even get them closed, but they were so tight in the thighs. I had bought these to go hiking in Yosemite National Park, thinking they could get wet, be super comfortable, deal with all of the elements, and yet, I was afraid to bend down because the pants were so tight. I mean, I get it: I have bigger legs, I'm a curvy, solid person. However, I expected there to be more give and more flexibility in the fabric.
The only plus is I liked the color, and they were a great price. Sadly, had to send them back though.
I am 5'6" recently topping out at 140. Had to go up to large to accommodate my new weight. (Darn)
I'm pear shaped, 5'7", about 140 lbs, and I'm usually a size 8-10 (I feel like I'm filling out a medical form, but hopefully this info helps someone else!). After reading a bunch of the reviews, it sounded like the pants ran a little small in the waist, so I bought a large, even though a size 8 is generally considered a medium. Good news--the pants fit through the waist. Bad news--they were HUGE everywhere else. My tiny stick legs were swimming in them, and it kind of looked like I was wearing a parachute. They could have worked, but they looked so gigantic on me that I decided to return them.
