Assembly seemed simple enough which consists of (4) hex bolts and (4) pre-assembeled casters.
The seat attaches to the powder coated steel frame, There are (4) pre-installed threaded inserts inside the seat which the hex bolts thread in to. The problem is the inserts barely engage 2 or possibly three threads which is not nearly enough. I though the bolts would incorporate flat washers so that when tightening they would protect the powder coated frame.
In order to use washers and achieve additional thread engagement I used bolts 1/4" longer. The longer bolts allowed more thread engagement and the use of a flat washer.
The powder coated frame comes with 4 plastic or low friction inserts already installed. When installing the caster assemblies, none would allow for easy insertion and in fact I could not even get one started.
Each caster has a retaining ring or wire close to the tip. This retainer protrudes quite a bit and in order to insert the caster assembly I needed to squeeze the retainer ring enough to get it started then use a 1/2 diameter dowel and a hammer to drive them to the round flange. These should not have been anywhere this difficult.
Once assembled the seat is comfortable and rolls nicely. The welded steel frame is very sturdy and should last for many years to come.
For what this is, $105 dollars is about double what this should be selling for as there's noting special about it.
Would I buy this seat again? NO, not for $105 dollars but maybe $40 to $45 tops especially considering the issues above.
