He cant stand hangers that grab or hold the shirts like velvet or sticky rubber. He likes to "pull and go" (Yeah, I know, not great on the collar...but we haven't had any misshaping of collars with these!) Also, by moving to these we have regained way more than half his closet space! No kidding, I never realized how much those other plastic hangers actually take up in space...this is awesome! Perfect solution for men who dont like those grippy space saver hangers. I ended up getting a hundred of these, none have broken nor look like they will...they hold up light weight jackets well too. They look pretty nice all neat in a row...make the closet look more organized which is a bonus, because we just revamped ours and its so pretty now I just want to sit in it and look around, lol. I will try to post pics later
These are basically as "slip resistant" as the regular plastic hangers his clothes were currently hanging on. The only differences are:
1) They're thinner - much thinner
2) They're a bit longer on either side.
For us this was perfect. These aren't being used for suits - he doesn't wear those (I think there's 1-2 in there somewhere - but they're in that back corner that I never really go to...) - these are for regular tops. We both are athletic-apparel junkies- so the vast majority of his shirts are the quick-dry (polyester/poly-cotton blend) polo's or shirts, and mine are pretty much all plain athletic tops. These are perfect for those. You can easily get the shirt off the hanger (which can be a pain with the velvet ones) & they're still super thin. The few rarely-used dressier tops of mine are on velvet hangers (as are my tanks).
But they are described as being slip-resistant-which definitely isn't the case.
The length does look like it will help prevent shoulder bumps, as does the shape.
Also - the image makes it look like these have a wood-grain type look to them (it says they're plastic, which they are - but I was still expecting them to kinda at least be trying to have that wood look to them) - they don't. They're just plain black smooth plastic - there's a bit of texture - but not much. Not a big thing, just thought I'd point that out.
They are a bit pricey, but the only other option I've found (the closet candy all-plastic hangers) are a bit more (I think they're currently $15/10pk), so I'm fine with it. And I've avoided tallying up just how many sets I've bought over the past month or so....since I'd probably be wondering if we really needed these at that point...but I'm still pleased with the space I've created & the clean look these bring to our closet.
