This CD really shows what great songs The Who made. These are excellent versions of all the Who:s greatest hits by famous artists. One would have thought that it might be difficult to replicate Keith Moons drumming, and it is (I play drums myself) but this is better drumming than what Kenny Jones ever achieved in the Who I think. These drummers are not sounding like they are behind a cushion. Keith Moon never sounded like he was behind a cushion. For anyone who is interested in fresh versions of songs by The Who this is a must. The only let down of this CD is the lack of information of how it was created. When was it recorded, where and by whom. And what was the creation process etc. There is no information at all except for which artists are featured song by song.

Who would have thought that Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits) and Peter Banks (Yes, Flash) would render a performance of Magic Bush nearly equal to the original. Todd Rundgren and Iggy Pop fans need this CD!

I have been a great fan of The Who for about 50 years so I was a bit hesitant to buy this tribute album as some of these type of records can be very ordinary, but this is a great one. Most songs are pretty faithful to the original songs while obviously stamping the guest artists own sound and style on them, with a 2 or 3 of horrendous exceptions (I won't say which, you be the judge). And I reckon Leslie West's guitar on The Seeker is worth the price alone. An enjoyable listen. One issue though - Don't know what happened on, if I recall correctly, Eminence Front, the music just cuts out before the end unfortunately as this is a great song. An error in production no doubt that should never have made the final product.

An interesting mix of interpretations of some Who classics by a great line up of performers. Some stick pretty close to the originals and some are quite different. The only disappointment was that the first track just stopped playing part way through - obviously a manufacturing fault.

The Who are my favorite straight-ahead rock act, so they're hard to cover in a way that satisfies me. On this album, only a few of the "all-stars" manage the trick -- notably the Raveonettes and the Sweet. I'm particularly disappointed that Nektar chose to do a nearly note-for-note cover. Worth having for the completeist.

I just downloaded the MP3 of this on Amazon mainly for the Mark Lindsay track. I was very disappointed because the sound on that track is not clear anand the track sounded like it was poorly recorded. I listened to sample of same song on I-tunes and the sound is excellent on I-tunes, so it appears to be an Amazon quality issue. Go Elsewhere to download this album.

I am pretty much finished with music downloads on Amazon. The Cloud Player interface to computer is kind of clunky and the quality of this download is sub par.

The covers are mostly good, a few excellent, a few just don't quite cut it. However, as a long time Who fan, having seen several concerts over the years, this album left me grinning. The delight (sorry, Pete) in this album is in keeping track of just which musicians are playing on each cut. Amazing! If you're a Who freak, buy this album. For the best rendition of the songs, the Who, studio or live, are Maximum R&B!
