"This is a charming and inventive children's book that remains educational even as it entertains. Its engaging farmyard mystery narrative cleverly and successfully disguises a lesson in problem-solving logic without wandering anywhere near the didactic. If my children were still young, I'd buy this book for them." - Lewis Perdue, NYT Bestselling author of 22 books.
"This looks, feels and reads like a modern classic. The story and wonderful illustrations take me back to the picture book stories I grew up with. A beautifully crafted story with life lessons for us all. Young and old. Like the best children's stories you feel like you are meeting characters who are going to be your friends for life." -
Richard Siddle, Former Editor, Harpers Wine & Spirit UK"Malvika Patel's children's book, Who Made the Hole in the Chicken Coop is a simple but sensitive story celebrating the value of parental support. Entangled by a lie of omission, a chick gradually recognizes a bigger truth. The book is an allegory empowering young minds to believe their dreams can become real. Ably illustrated by Ekaterina Bulankina." - Steve Raye, Author of How To Get U.S. Market-Ready
After I wrote this book, I perfected it with extensive feedback from editors, research on child psychology and details of the kind of stories children like at every and and stage of development and why. I was happy to work with Ekaterina, a talented illustrator to bring the words to life.
I hope children will enjoy reading this book as much as we enjoyed creating it.

About the Author
Malvika is a wife and mother of 2 wonderful sons (not yet dragons!). She dreams of living near the ocean and if you see her eyes glaze over, she is probably imagining the sound of the waves as she is walking on a beach. She has had a successful career as a business analyst. However, there were stories spinning inside her head that needed to be written.
Fun Fact: She has lived in three countries so far and is now confused about where home is.
Malvika is currently working to finish her second children's book and a historical fiction book for adults. Apart from that, she has a folder full of fun stories. Which one will she pull out next?
