Who I Am With You by M. Lynn Cunning was a great story. It a story about two broken hearts finding each other at the right time. Chad Kirkwood comes from a broken relationship and sees Katie’s job posting for help at her father’s farm one day. He decides to take a chance on it and thinks it might be just the perfect distraction. He tells Katie only what he thinks she needs to know about his life. He keeps the bigger, more complicated things a secret from her. Katie is left broken after her engagement is called off when her father passes away. She is left his farm that is barely holding up. She hires Chad as help to get the farm afloat again. The two have this remarkable chemistry and connection that begins to unfold as secrets being to surface.
I rated this story 4 out of 5 stars. I had a hard time with this story initially. It felt very slow paced to me and I had a hard time staying connected to the characters. Once you realize the chemistry between the two and the backstory has unfolded, it moves much faster. I probably would have connected more with the main character had I been a mom in my opinion. I always seem to struggle more connecting with character with children because I can’t relate to it.
I however did particular enjoy Chad’s backstory because I am a Nashville native. Chad moved to Nashville to pursue his career in music and I actually work in the music industry. So I stayed drawn to him most of the story. There was so much emotion for Katie that she’s been through and everything just broke my heart. Seeing Chad help pick up the pieces was so heart-warming.
This story is book one in the series. It left on a cliff hanger in terms of, no way the book just ended that way. This is also another reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. I am always hopeful for certain types of endings, but overall I liked the book. I can’t wait to read the 2nd book in this series and even more from this author.

Katie Wicken is a very sad woman. Not only has she lost her fiance after six years, she had moved home to take care of her sick father and he had recently died. Now she is moving into their small farm to try to keep it up. With the cattle, horses, chickens, and gardens to take care of plus Mason her six year old son, she is overwhelmed. She posts an ad in town for help thinking she will get school kids. What she gets is Chad Kirkwood, a nice looking thirty year old looking for a job. Even though she knows he is hiding things she hires him. Chad has recently split with his wife of ten years. She left him for another man. He is heartbroken. These two just need to get lost in work so they can recover from their heartbreaks. Anyone who knows me and how much a review also know I hate cliffhangers. Somehow I missed and picked this book. I screamed at people, I cried and if the book hadn't been on my computer I would have thrown it across the floor. In all fairness, though this book was so good. Till the next book comes out, though I will forget this one. When you read so much it's hard to remember them all, that's mainly why I hate cliffhangers. Thanks to the author this story was great and I hope I can remember until book two comes out. a great read

Who I am With You is a story about getting a second chance at love. Chad and Katie have both been hurt. Chad's wife left him for another man, and Katie's fiance left her (and their son) after her father died. The book starts out with Chad's wife leaving him... this drew me into Chad's world from the start. As a former nurse, Katie put her life on hold to care for her father and as a result, she is left to take care of the farm and her son Mason on her own when her fiancee dumps her. He feels she has changed too much, and that they have grown apart. She and Chad meet when he answers her ad for help on the farm. Their begrudging relationship soon turns to friendship and love. We learn that Chad has a huge secret that could hurt her. bones of the story are there. Who I am With You is a great contemporary romance. Katie shows her soft side and lets her guard down with her son Mason. At first, she comes off cold with Chad, which is understandable. She felt she had to protect them from further loss and heartache.  Chad was a great character who gave his love and dedication to Mason and Katie. He was willing go step in and be the man they needed in their lives for physical and emotional support. Mason reminds everyone of why fighting for love and acceptance is so important and the beauty of family...whether by blood or by design.
I suggest this as a good read, and look forward to further books by this author.

Who I am With You is a story about getting a second chance at love. Chad and Katie have both been hurt. Chad's wife left him for another man, and Katie's fiance left her (and their son) after her father died. The book starts out with an emotional punch with Chad's wife leaving him. It pulled me in, but somehow, somewhere along the way I lost touch with the characters and I just couldn't feel the book anymore.
Katie is still grieving her father, who died of brain cancer. As a former nurse, she put her life on hold to be his caretaker at his farm. Her fiance, Jay, couldn't handle her grief and the change in her after her tragic loss. Like the jerk he is, he leaves her to take care of the farm (and their son, Mason) on her own. She and Chad meet when he answers her ad for help on the farm. What starts out as a tense employer/employee relationship quickly turns to friendship and love. But there is a catch! Chad has a huge secret that could hurt her even more than she already is.
The bones of the story are there. To some, I'm sure that Who I am With You is a great contemporary romance. To me, it just felt flat. Katie is bitter and hurting. The only time she really lets her guard down is with her son Mason. At first, she came off terse with Chad, which is totally understandable. She felt she had to protect herself and her son from further heartache. Chad is just kind of there to me. He was a nice enough character, but... I don't know. He wasn't anything spectacular. I did love Mason, thought. That kid was my favorite part of the story.
I say this anytime I rate a book low... Try the story out for yourself. If it sounds like something you'd like, give it a whirl. What doesn't work for me, might be something you absolutely love.
