I purchased this book because I liked the idea of having an opening in the page that showed the animal on the next page thus the child would have to name the animal before getting the answer. This would enforce the learning of animal names. Given all the positive reviews, I thought this would be the best garden book with peek-a-boo openings to purchase..... However, i think the book could have been better art-wise. The pages were at times too busy and over-packed so it was hard to focus on the main animal. The book was less busy than its farmyard counterpart, but half of the book still could have used some editing. Therefore, my favorite pages in the book are the pages for the rabbits, bees, and moles because those pages focused on the main animal and showed clear animal behavior. Overall, my son did not like this book as much as the forest one, but it ended up being my favorite especially the less cluttered pages.

This is a great book to read to babies over 16 months. It's so beautifully colorful that the pictures alone will entertain your baby; however the story is easy and informative. They learn about all kinds of things while keeping it simple for parents. I love this book.

The text of this book is simple and the illustrations are beautiful. My 13 month old loves it - she asks me to read it several times a day. Her favorite game is to point out to mommy all the animals in the garden. It keeps her entertained and holds her interest, which is wonderful.

My 10 month old daughter loves this book. It is very colorful and has a lot of fun detail on each page. It also is great for babies/toddlers to help them learn pronounciation of certain words by repetition. For instance, "Bees buzz, buzz, buzzing from rose to rose." She wants me to read it to her over and over again!
