Having a son,now an adult, with disabilities in school, a long time ago, this brought back many memories, some good and some not so good. All of these "slow learners" have potential usually not recognized by the current school system. That's too bad because they have so much to offer and this book shows the frustration of having the public school system shuttle these students to the bottom of the class. The schools expect the lowest level possible, and when that happens the student will meet those low expectations.
When an exceptional instructor raises the bar and has high expectations, the students will raise to that expectation. Sadly there are too few instructors willing to take the time to raise the bar and find out what these so called "slow learners" can do.
