My daughter is obsessed with the show 'Born This Way' (I love it too!)
Wondering what life is like after high school for you child with SN? Then you MUSt read this book! You'll learn the difference between getting a diploma and a certificate of completion, what a transition program is, the importance of volunteering and summer camp as well as the value in attending your specific disabilities conventions. The drama of Sean's girlfriends is worth the read alone, better than anything on MTV! A thoroughly enjoyable read and filled with a LOT of helpful tips.
Everytime I read about how other families have approached life, I am inspired and also wish I had done more. My grandson also has Down Syndrome and does not read well. His mom who also has Down Syndrome does, but he has never been motivated.
I love how Sandra approaches tasks and finds a way for Sean to earn responsibility. Bravo, bravo. I really want my grandson and his mom to meet Sean. What great role models this family is for all of us. Thank you.
