100% of The Late Show’s proceeds from this book go to disaster relief.

Whose Boat Is This Boat? Comments That Don’t Help in the Aftermath of a Hurricane is a picture book made entirely of quotations from President Donald Trump in the wake of Hurricane Florence. It is the first children’s book that demonstrates what not to say after a natural disaster.

On September 19, 2018, Donald Trump paid a visit to New Bern, North Carolina, one of the towns ravaged by Hurricane Florence. It was there he showed deep concern for a boat that washed ashore. “At least you got a nice boat out of the deal,” said President Trump to hurricane victims. “Have a good time!” he told them. The only way his comments would be appropriate is in the context of a children’s book—and now you can experience them that way, thanks to the staff of
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Whose Boat Is This Boat? is an excellent teaching tool for readers of all ages who enjoy learning about empathy by process of elimination. Have a good time!

Bonus gift for donating to hurricane victims!
I got 2 of these books as a bonus gift for donating to the victims of recent hurricanes. The book is short, well illustrated and very accurate. You can tell who the author is without even looking at the cover page. His riveting work will make you laugh, cry, and then do both at the same time. In few words he will make you feel a wild range of emotions.Over all great little gift for people of all ages, backgrounds and politics.A+++

I bought the Audible book to go with the Kindle book and the Animated version on iTunes. For anyone who is complaining about the trees and a waste of paper, there are plenty of versions and ways to contribute to this great cause. For anyone complaining about the graphics, do note that Stephen doesn't have John Oliver's HBO Dragon money, which is definitely on display in A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo which contributes to The Trevor Project and AIDS United. Laura Benanti who plays Melania on the Colbert's show also has Singing you home - Children's Songs for Family Reunification which contributes to RAICES for children in border detention. I really appreciate that these late show hosts and celebrities are using their platforms to bring attention to important causes.

Back to Hurricane relief: I love the Audible version because Stephen is narrating it and the animated version has really great graphics with the addition of Uncle Sam! (You can preview it in its entirety on the Late Show's feed on Youtube). In addition to Stephen's #PuberMe campaign to help those in Puerto Rico (who are also still recovering), during this holiday season, it is important to remember that there are people out there who are trying to piece their lives back together. Besides, if you don't like these celebrities, remember, you can also sign in on AmazonSmile to contribute to the Charity of your choice with your purchases and you can ALWAYS contribute directly.

A little bit of kindness can change someone's entire life.

Versions available: Kindle (which is actually a dollar more and therefore a dollar extra for charity), Print, Audible, and Animated (on iTunes).

Thanks to Stephen Colbert and the Late Show crew for this one. While I have to agree with others about the lack of content when there is sooooo much more that could have been added, it wasn't meant to be a novel... it was meant to BE novel and help out the hurricane victims. Considering the complete lack of empathy by our "illiterate in chief" and his fixation on the trivial (in everything it seems), its nice to see someone pick up the collections plate and help these folks out. Colbert and The Late Show crew didn't make a penny off the sale of this book, and kudos to them all for their efforts, despite the lack of content.

As far as the whiny tree huggers tossing a hissy about the poor, defensiveless trees that were killed to make this book: for crying out loud, if you want to address BLATENT WASTE of paper, let's look at things like the recent bill dealing with UAV'S/drones (Sept 2018). That thing was ~1200 pages! Yup, almost 2.5 REAMS of paper when the actual beef was contained in roughly 120 pages (and over 200 pages in!). Considering it could have been done in 20 pages or less, even with all the unnecessary "legalese", THAT is an outrage to me. And this is merely a single example in a sea of nonsense. The saddest part is those voting on it never read, muchless had a clue to its actual contents (IMHO, they should be tested, and score 100% comprension on EVERY bill they vote on). Watch "The Distinguished Gentleman"... it's DC in a nutshell! Peace and prosperity to all! (Sans the top 1%, thpttt).

I bought Whose Boat Is This Boat for myself, just for laughs. It's a bonus that it supports the Carolina hurricane victims, since I live there and was in the hurricanes. My teenage niece saw the book in my room and was curious about it, and the book ended up being a way for her to start a conversation about the questions and concerns she has about her Trump-supporting father. She'd been secretly watching news videos on her phone, holding in questions she couldn't ask her dad. Her questions ranged from "why is he always making that [fish-lipped] face?" to serious questions about Trump's affects on her own life. Even a kid can see that Trump is generally a bad guy, but as a young teen she's still learning how the government works and why particular things can or can't happen. After she read Whose Boat Is This Boat, and after I showed her YouTube videos of Colbert's reading of the book and some news coverage of the inspiring Trump-boat encounter, my niece asked to watch the current news because she wanted to know more about what's going on in the government right now and the reasons for the problems. It was an unexpected result to buying this book for my own entertainment. I might have to buy another copy to give to my niece now that the price has dropped. :)

Clever and amusing illustrations. Silly and simple. A little short/quick but that’s part of its charm. It really allows you to take the quotes exactly as they are and to consider the insanity of the context. I’d like to see a whole collection of Trump’s Greatest Hits: The Natural Disaster Response Series!! How about the casual paper towel toss while visiting the needy whiny island of Puerto Rico that was going to cost US a lot of money due to its hurricanes; Hey Puerto Rico, some free advice to soak up along with your free paper towels: If you don’t want to deal with hurricanes followed by poor FEMA response maybe next time don’t be surrounded by water, BIG oceans of water. (Duh!) The series wouldn’t be complete without a book to commemorate the CA wildfires visit, too. Our Great Leader’s keen inspection of California’s poorly maintained “forest floor,” complete with victim blaming and expert advice on the necessity of “raking the forest” in...??? (“Eh whatever, I can’t remember the name of this devistated town I’m standing in bc it’s not not a red state or part of my Trump Rally Circuit, so not worth the mental effort to recall its name for a single afternoon while I’m here. I’ll just call it Pleasure or something.”

…away! Please! Just go away!! But in the meantime, at least we have creative minds like Stephen Colbert to help us through😂! Donald Trump has provided endless amounts of content - literally EVERY TIME he opens his mouth - and is a boon to comedians EVERYWHERE, but ultimately I’d rather go without! So, please Donald… just GO!
