Whose Boat Is This Boat?: Comments That Don't Help in the Aftermath of a Hurricane Hardcover – November 6, 2018
Purchase options and add-ons
Whose Boat Is This Boat? Comments That Don’t Help in the Aftermath of a Hurricane is a picture book made entirely of quotations from President Donald Trump in the wake of Hurricane Florence. It is the first children’s book that demonstrates what not to say after a natural disaster.
On September 19, 2018, Donald Trump paid a visit to New Bern, North Carolina, one of the towns ravaged by Hurricane Florence. It was there he showed deep concern for a boat that washed ashore. “At least you got a nice boat out of the deal,” said President Trump to hurricane victims. “Have a good time!” he told them. The only way his comments would be appropriate is in the context of a children’s book—and now you can experience them that way, thanks to the staff of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Whose Boat Is This Boat? is an excellent teaching tool for readers of all ages who enjoy learning about empathy by process of elimination. Have a good time!

Back to Hurricane relief: I love the Audible version because Stephen is narrating it and the animated version has really great graphics with the addition of Uncle Sam! (You can preview it in its entirety on the Late Show's feed on Youtube). In addition to Stephen's #PuberMe campaign to help those in Puerto Rico (who are also still recovering), during this holiday season, it is important to remember that there are people out there who are trying to piece their lives back together. Besides, if you don't like these celebrities, remember, you can also sign in on AmazonSmile to contribute to the Charity of your choice with your purchases and you can ALWAYS contribute directly.
A little bit of kindness can change someone's entire life.
Versions available: Kindle (which is actually a dollar more and therefore a dollar extra for charity), Print, Audible, and Animated (on iTunes).
As far as the whiny tree huggers tossing a hissy about the poor, defensiveless trees that were killed to make this book: for crying out loud, if you want to address BLATENT WASTE of paper, let's look at things like the recent bill dealing with UAV'S/drones (Sept 2018). That thing was ~1200 pages! Yup, almost 2.5 REAMS of paper when the actual beef was contained in roughly 120 pages (and over 200 pages in!). Considering it could have been done in 20 pages or less, even with all the unnecessary "legalese", THAT is an outrage to me. And this is merely a single example in a sea of nonsense. The saddest part is those voting on it never read, muchless had a clue to its actual contents (IMHO, they should be tested, and score 100% comprension on EVERY bill they vote on). Watch "The Distinguished Gentleman"... it's DC in a nutshell! Peace and prosperity to all! (Sans the top 1%, thpttt).
